Fantastic Anatomy Flashcards!,
By
This review is from: Trail Guide to the Body Flashcards Volume 2: Muscles of the Human Body (Loose Leaf)
I am a huge fan of Andrew Biel's Muscular Flashcards. The illustrations are so clear and concise, it is almost impossible to not be able to recognize the placement in relation to the musculoskeletal system. I also appreciate the structure of the flashcards; for example, first one entire section of the shoulder girdle is displayed, and then the following flashcards show the muscles individually. Each individual flashcard includes the action, origin, nerve innervations, and pronunciation (which we all know is a definite must for certain muscles!). I really love these flashcards...I initially tried using Bryan Edward's Muscle Flashcards, and I found it downright impossible to learn with his flashcards. The way those flashcards are structured makes it impossible to realize how the muscles relate synergistically (which Biel's flashcards do beautifully). I would recommend these flashcards to any of my friends.

Wrong edition ... be sure you get 3rd edition it has changed,

I ordered this product online to go with the text book. However, when I received it I discovered it was for an old edition of the book. The book is now on it's 3rd edition and it has changed several of the muscle origin and insertion locations. Also the newest edition shows the origins and insertions on the card along with the current page number in the book for that muscle. I ended up having to buy these cards in 3rd edition from a bookstore (same price as online, $20-$25) and just give away the one I bought from Amazon. I have written the seller but they were not interested in making the situation right. Bottom line... be sure you know what you are buying and if the seller doesn't answer your questions, don't buy it.

Too Pricey, Book Gives Same Info,
By Apples2Enjoy (Ohio, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trail Guide to the Body Flashcards Volume 2: Muscles of the Human Body (Loose Leaf)
At first I was going to buy these, than I realized the book has the exact same info! Why buy cards then? Besides, these were super pricey from my bookstore. It has worked out for me to use both the Trail Guides, along with the Anatomy Coloring Book 3rd Edition and Anatomy and Physiology for the Manual Therapies by Tortora. Obviously that last one won't work for everyone. But I do know there are better options out there then the Flash Cards. Better yet- make your own and double your learning!
