Review
Retailing for $6.95 each, the books contain approximately 40 full-page illustrations, featuring Kate and Reed, who take their first riding lesson in exchange for doing work at Leg-Up Stables; go to a schooling show with other kids; and learn to be leaders as they take younger kids on a trail ride. Both English and western riding are featured. I wanted to get the Crayola 64 but box out of storage, put my hair up in elephant ears and regress into childhood. Either that or grab the first available pre-teen and offer to babyset for an afternoon. Polly Carbonari's drawings simply invite the reader to begin coloring, while Pat Young's stories ring ture with those of us who have "been there, done that". --
