5.0 out of 5 stars No respect I tell you!!!, December 10, 2002

I don't see why people dismiss this album as being a practice album. Everywhere I look, I see "1977" as their debut album. Now wait just a second. Grant it, I am big fan of "1977," but "Trailer" is just as good, if not better. The song,"Uncle Pat" alone makes the cd worth getting. Now most of you out there only want to buy a cd that is going to have a lot of good songs and not just a few. Well, in my honest, personal opinion, every song but 2 are good (if not incredible). If you at all like catchy melodies, soaring and mesmorizing guitar, and good music to rock to; get this. You will thank me later. Now go do yourself a favor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Garage magic, November 13, 2002
By
This review is from: Trailer (Audio CD)
I'll admit that at first i wasnt too interested in this album because its garage-like music with scatchy guitars sounded a lot different than Free All Angels, which had more rich and well produced music. I guess i was so entertained listening to the other stuff i never spent time listening to this one. Well i've come around putting some time and WOW! This stuff really has some youth heart. The first song that really got me hooked was "Uncle Pat". How can some young adults write a song so great and with a chorus that sounds this beautiful without even any lyrics? Then "Jack Names the Planets" caught my interest as well. The scrathy garagelike and even sometimes bubblegum (but not in a bad way. check out "Punk Boy") music is so innocent and excellent that how can you resist it? Overall i think the whole cd is excellent (and i can go forever talking about how "excellent" it is and describe every track but ill stop there) except "Hulk Hogan Bubblebath" and "Obscure thing" which are OK but dont count cuz they have no lyrics! I also think this CD is overlooked and shouldnt be counted as simply a practice album. Folks, this album is the real deal. This album has a lot of heart like the albums to come from Ash would have and is worthy of being an Ash album

4.0 out of 5 stars What a way to start!, May 20, 1999
By A Customer

This is a brilliant, yet perhaps a little naive beginning to want is becoming a great rock band. Even though they don't show much artist promise on this record, the noisy and rapid feedback of Tim Wheeler's guitar and Mark Hamilton's thumping bass makes for a very entertaining listen. Catchy, youthful euphoria is displayed on tracks like Petrol and the excellent Uncle Pat. If you like this album you will certainly like 1977 and Nu-Clear Sounds. Perhaps one of the most promising bands to evolve from Ireland in recent years.
