Great Canadian Comedy,
By Delerat "Delerat" (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trailer Park Boys - The Complete Third Season (DVD)
Trailer Park Boys is unmatchable. The characters Ricky, Julian, & Bubbles are very well developed. Ricky is a great guy, but is just confused at times. In his confusion, he just happens to bring him and everyone around him down. Julian, usually the problem solver, like many people is always frustrated by Ricky's actions. Bubbles, the COOLEST character, fixes shopping carts for a living.
If you haven't seen season 1 & 2, then get them first.

Canadians have TV, Who knew?,

In the states we don't ever hear much about Canadian television... Probably because most of the stuff they watch is produced by or for Americans... Anyway, this little jewel caught my eye and had me rolling in laughter. Probably one of the funniest sit-coms I've ever seen. Buy it, roll a fatty, and sit back and enjoy!

Hey I am just doing this review while hunting for Season 5 - once you see the show - you'll be jonesing for more too! Original, just too funny, this TV show rocks out. Although this is truly a Eastern Canadian show, those of us who grew up in 1970s can deeply relate to it. I see it more as a Gen X/Y style humor for all nations.

Trailer Park Boys Rule!,
By Chris Murphy (Abu Dhabi, UAE) - See all my reviews
This review is from: TRAILER PARK BOYS - SEASON 3 (DVD)
It took me some time to catch on to this and when I first tried to watch it, thought to myself, "how lame", but then I gave the boys another chance.....I'm 45 years old, sat together with my 25 year old daughter who was already hooked on, watched a couple of episodes on HBO and alas...I was hooked. I am now living in the Middle East and bought the first two series before coming back out....on Friday nights I can sit here and watch the same episodes repeatedly, laughing harder and harder each time! Absolutely hilarious stuff....I only need to look at Bubbles and start laughing...and him on that go-cart...omg! too funny! love all the characters, Ricky going into that house and being attacked by "a killer kitten" Ha! Priceless......I hope the humor never ends...will definately be buying the latest season!

Seasons 2, 3 and 4 are really the best of this show. It's starting to fizzle a little, but here in season 3 it is at full stride. The genius in this show is the script. So well crafted. The boys are at their most hilarious and heartbreaking in this season. I would recommend this and all seasons of TPB.

First I know Im late to the party... but I must say, I never heard of this show until I read on line that ALEX LIFESON was in the episode Closer to the Heart So of course, being an obsessive RUSH fan, I had to see this show. This show is flippin' hilarious. I laughed from the start to finish..."they got songs about how trees talk to each other" Ha! I just love the way these Canadians talk - some people like Southern Accents or British Accents - but I think Canadian accents are now my personal favorite... To think that someone could honestly get close enough to kidnap ALEX, tie him up - just treat him like crap, too funny - and then after it was all over ALEX still helped Bubbles learn to play Closer to the HEART.. AWWWW!! This is now one of my favorite shows!! Thank you ALEX, Trailer Park Boys, and Canada for this hilarious show...

Bigger budget for Season 3, means a lot more antics,

This is the BEST show that not many are watching. With Season 3, Trailer Park Boys was a hit for Canadian television, which meant big guest stars and more adventures.
Just when I think I've got this show figured out and can guess what is going to happen next, the writers, director, and actors pull a fast one on me and leave me laughing and wanting more. It never falls into the predictibility or "over-the-top" trap that so many shows (The Simpsons, anyone) do. Pure funny genius through and through. I don't know how they do it, but as "bad" as these characters might be, I care about each and every one of the them. I want them to succeed, even though I know most of them won't. At the end of each season, there is a clear mixture of winners and losers from Sunnyvale Trailer Park. The perfect cliffhanger, becuase you gotta learn what happens next! On to Season 4.........

Closer To The Heart,

This review is from: TRAILER PARK BOYS - SEASON 3 (DVD)
To me Season 3 Episode 5 "Closer To The Heart" is the best stand alone episode in the entire series. That will get you hooked....All you need to know: "You got 3 trailer park boys vs. a drunk trailer park supervisor and his shirtless trailer park assistant"..
After that I recommend watching this show from its beginning to its end.......

This deserves 5 stars. Why?1. Originality. The mocu-mentitive stile is hilarious. Only seen before on "This is Spinal Tap" (that I know of). 2. Only good Canadian show ever. Sorry "Kids in the Hall" fans. 3. Bubles glasses. Enough said. 4. Pants wetting hilarity. The show has the funniest stories and jokes. From stealing barbeques to stealing Alex Lifeson (Rush). 5. Bubles rap. The solidly most hilarious thing ever. Must see. There is only one bad thing about buying this set, peolple will not stop asking to borrrow it. This show can be enjoyed by anyone, must for your DVD collection. |
