I was introduced to Jalan by a friend in Western Kansas. Jalan passes through his town and plays from time to time. Upon the first spin through this album, you get to smiling and laughing at the comedy in the tracks. It is the third and fourth time through that you get hooked, and then then lyrics start to sink in. His lyrics are at times very comical, yet they cut to the quick. The title says it all, Trailer Pare Fire and Other Tradedies. This album will get you to laugh, but it is not a happy album. Encredible musicianship. Excellent album. Don't forget to check out his website Jalancrossland.com

Upon moving back to Wyoming I had several people tell me "you need to see Jalan Crossland play...he's a great bluegrass and folk musician". Well, since I'm not into bluegrass or folk music, I dismissed the recommendations of my friends. It was sheer luck that I ultimately stumbled upon the unique sound and stage presence of Jalan Crossland and the Jalan Crossland Band. Hobo Erotica and Pegleg are my personal favorites on this album. As good as this album is, Jalan is far better live. Check out his website (jalancrossland.com) for concert dates. And let's hope for a live DVD.

I saw Crossland in a solo performance in a small venue. Super talent with guitar and banjo, sharp sense of humor, great delivery....all demonstrated on this CD.
