Fitting In finally.,
By Veronica (Whistler - one of the greatest places on earth for mountain biking!) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trailside Guide: Mountain Biking For Women (Paperback)
I've been riding for years and couldn't figure out why I always seemed to be behind the pack, always the slowest and hurt more at the end.I picked up this book and began to get the picture. My bike didn't fit me at all. I'd been given it by my boyfriend at the time and it was heavy and oversized and caused me to ache. All the extra weight of it made me the slowest of the pack, and the wrong fit - made it impossible for me to jump or descend comfortably. I found this book to answer alot of the questions that the "Guys" never seemed to mention. If you're thinking of getting into riding or are thinking of getting out of it because your not having fun. Try this first. The tips, ideas and techniques can make all the difference. It's well written. Great layout and design. Very imformative and helpful. Whether its single track or road riding - this the information you can use. The trails are beckoning and I'm now leading the pack on occasion.

This Book Will Make All the Difference!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Trailside Guide: Mountain Biking For Women (Paperback)
There is no other book like this on mountain biking - FOR WOMEN! It is so well written, in a warm, friendly, but practical tone. Any and all topics relating to women and riding are covered. If there's something you've been wanting to know and couldn't bring yourself to ask a guy, it's in this book! If you enjoy riding but want to enjoy it more, or if you want to ride, but aren't sure, this book will make the difference for you. It gives you confidence enough to get out there and gain more confidence! It's well designed, rugged, and has enough photos and good layout to make it an easy, enjoyable read. Plus, the back is filled with great references and resources. Thanks Jennifer for a great book! Is there a Mountain Biking for Women II in the works?

This book has a lot of useful information for female riders who are just starting out in the sport. For those of us who have been at it for a few years, this is likely stuff that you already know. I bought this book looking for a few more tips on training geared towards women and this is really just more of a guide on how to start riding, rules of riding, basic bike maintenance, etc. I would like elsewhere for training tips.
