This review is from: Train (Paperback)
How strange it is that the mundane can trigger the flight of 'birds of memory.' While peeling a potato, Armida's unruffled, forgotten 'birds of memory' soar to a past of eighteen years: to a time of potential, of unformed political and social identity, along with a daisy chain of unrequited love. Maraini's prose is a lovely combination of insight and emotion.
