4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Resource Book, October 29, 2003
In "Train at Home to Work at Home" author Michelle McGarry lists 27 occupations that can be done working out of your home. Each occupation is first described in order to give you some sense of what the occupation entails. After the description is a section with an extensive list of programs that offer distance training. Within that section the programs are described, complete contact information provided, and the details of the program are given (including costs). This section is followed by one that provides more information including suggested books, organizations, and web sites.

This book provides information on different work-at-home occupations. It does not provide information on how to perform those occupations nor does it pretend to provide any training. It is a resource book that points the reader to some of the better work-at-home ideas and how to get the training you will need in order to be successful at the venture.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Recommended (Youll regret if you miss it!), August 11, 2003
By A Customer
A Review by BookReviewClub.com

Finally, there is a book that actually shows its readers how to train at home to work at home. Out of all books that "teach" to work at home, McGarry's is probably one of the very best. It is comprehensive, resourceful, extremely interesting and fun to read. A fantastic resource that deserves the best spot on your bookshelf.

Frankly speaking, I've never read a book written with such careful resourcefulness. The author's love for work-at-home careers truly shines through every page she writes.

This book includes 27 top work-at-home careers (that's what she calls it due to the notorious reputation of "home business" term), of which a few might not sound familiar to you. I didn't know what "scoping" meant until I read the well-written and easy-to-grasp description.

McGarry cleverly and wittily describes what the career entails, where to get trained (via distance learning -online and offline) and how much the tuition costs. She also includes a chock full of information of additional resources, such as web sites, books and e-books.

In addition to its resourcefulness, I also like this book's friendly and straight-to-the-heart writing style. As a work-at-homer herself, the author shares her joy and encourages others to choose the one vocation that fits the working at home lifestyle. You'll be inspired to start your home career immediately with confidence.

If you need a really good book about working at home, this is definitely not the one you'd want to miss. It will help you hit the ground running. I, for sure, will keep this book within reach because I will keep returning from time to time.
