This movie was an excellent tale of the reality happening on college campuses and other venues as well. It is a true eye opener that tugs at the heart and made me very concerned about the lack of morality among this generation and the need for more positive role models. I am going to spread the word because everyone needs to see this movie, especially teens and young adults. There is a great lesson to be learned and I pray that someone will take heed. Everyone should see this movie. Especially if you have young children who are 'growing-up' in this crazy world. It was an eye-opener for me, in fact after watching the movie, I had this feeling of concern. Concerned if my nieces and God Children and friend's kids are actually aware of what is happening out there, just by hanging out with your friends. Friends who you thought you knew and trusted. I'm not going to give the story away, just BUY and WATCH this MOVIE.... Rel Dowdell and his team did a great job of 'telling it like it is' with taste. A very educational film.

This movie is pretty good. This is a movie that every incoming college freshman should see, male or female, about how one wrong decision can ruin your life.The dialoge could have been better, some of it sounds forced. The acting is mediocre but the story really picks up toward the second half of the movie.

If you are a relative or friend of someone who is starting college soon I highly recommend that you buy this DVD for them as a gift. Also, if you are looking for a black film that is entertaining, thought-provoking and full of suspense, this is the perfect movie for you. Although it is a black film, I think everyone will be able to relate to it. I couldn't help but wonder if the same thing that happened to MC Lyte's character happened to the 18 year old young lady (Natalie Holloway) from Alabama who is missing in Aruba.

When I bought the DVD I didn't watch it for few weeks because I had low expections. I thought it would be like some of the other black films that I have seen but I was very wrong. In my opinion, "Train Ride" is far superior to some of the more popular black films released in the last several years. I honestly cannot think of 10 black films of the past decade that are better than this one.

MC LYTE I KNOW SHE IS VERSATILE, BUT AT THE SAME TIME I DIDN'T DEEM HER 2 PLAY KATRINA. NICOLE PRESCOTT WOULD BETTER SUIT KATRINAS' CHARACTER. AS 4 WOOD HARRIS' CHARACTER "WHAT AN ARROGANT B**CH"! TRAGEDY LIKE THAT OCCURS BECAUSE TOO MANY GULLABLE FEMALES TRY 2 IMPRESS THESE NO-GOOD FILTH!!!! NICOLE SHOULD NOT HAD PUT HER HANDS DOWN HIS' PANTS BEING THAT SHE DIDN'T KNOW HIM!! KATRINA/MC LYTE DIDN'T KNOW WOOD "WELL ENOUGH", SO SHE SHOULD'VE LEFT WITH HER GIRLS. THEN IF SHE OPTED 2 STAY, MAKE SURE THAT HIS' BOYS LEFT & PLAY HIM MAD CLOSE...SHE'S NOT SUPPOSE 2 ACCEPT ANY FOOD OR DRINKS FROM HIM WITHOUT SEEING HIM PREPARE THEM. OR SIMPLY MAKE THEM HERSELF!

I BECAME IRRITATED WITH TRINAS' OTHER FRIEND AFTER SHE FOUND OUT WHAT THEY DID 2 TRINA...SHE TOLD NICOLE RATHER THAN CONSOLING TRINA (IT DIDN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!)

Train Ride is a welcomed relief from some of the sub-standard and outrageously stereotypical fare that has come out of Hollywood. Rel Dowdel has created an extremely significant film for generations to come. This film delivers a powerful and important message, with a dose of reality that is not easily portrayed on film. This movie represents the debut of a fresh new talent in writing and directing, and I applaud Mr. Dowdel for his efforts. A very fitting tribute to Esther Rolle in her last performance on film. Wood Harris, M.C. Lyte, and the rest of the cast are excellent. I'm sending a copy of the movie to Oprah, to encourage her to have Rel on her show as a guest, because the message of this movie needs to be spread nationwide. A must see for students and parents!!

As a Caucasian woman, I didn't know what to expect when I saw the newspaper ad for this film in Philadelphia, PA, but I found myself drawn to want to go and see it. My God, I'm SO glad that I did. This film touched my heart and made me pensive that very few films have EVER done. It was amazing. I literally couldn't speak about it until now. EVERYONE needs to see AND own this film. Show it to any young person you know. It speaks volumes to the startling lack of morality of young people today. This film puts a mirror right smack up in their faces, and FORCES them to take a mighty, mighty hard look. For a film without the million dollar backing of most films, this film stands up strong to any of them, which is a credit to first time writer/director Rel Dowdell, who I greatly hope we'll see many more films like this from in the near future. That Wood Harris was something else. His villainous, slick, all-too-realistic character was sublime. MC Lyte's heart-wrenching performance brought tears to my eyes. The young woman who played her roommate was wonderful too, as well as the male supporting characters. I recognize one of the actors from the past ESPN show "Playmakers." The situation that happens in this film has happened to SO many girls. I know that for a fact. They are just ashamed to admit it. This film will evoke thought, and hopefully, change that that lost generation. Bravo, Bravo to Rel Dowdell for an excellent, very timely, and unusually moralisitc film that is way past due.

Yo! The filmmaker of this joint had some serious foresight. EVERYONE AT DULE UNIVERSITY should be made to watch this. This film could have saved them much embarassment and shame. Now that school's reputation will never be the same. People don't think that the things that happen in "Train Ride" can happen anywhere else, but it does. "Train Ride" takes place at a fictional black college, but as you can plainly see with the current scandalous events that took place at Duke University with the WHITE lacrosse team and the BLACK female dancer from nearby black college North Carolina Central, it can happen anywhere. Gotta give the writer/director props for making a super universal film that is more than in tune with current events than anything else out there. Duke University, R. Kelly, Mystikal, Kid Rock, Jayne Kennedy, Snoop Dogg, Rob Lowe, Paris Hilton, the wrestler Chyna, Pamela Anderson, Colin Farrell, the rapper Eve.. all have elements of "Train Ride" scandal somewhere in their lives that has made the world have a lesser opinion of them. Notice the diversity of the races of the names just mentioned. It happens to all races and classes. Get this joint and see the present day, the past, and the future of sexual relations gone terribly wrong, exploited, and untimately destroyed by greed, lust, and power.

Females and males alike can get a lot from this film. One of the biggest problems in society today is the lack of respect that the current generation has for one another, especially on the dating tip. The characters in the film are not just black characters, they are any character u.s.a. I know the things that go on in this film are going on everywhere in this country, people are just scared to talk about it. This film is going to hit real close to home for many people for men and women. This is a great thing, because in the end, this film can help people heal or deal with this kind of ordeal, or better yet, it could save someone's life who may have been naive. The money is costs to check out this film is a bargain compared to years of therapy if the things in this film really happen to someone. That's the truth. Flick of choice for 2006.
