Effective Training,

This review is from: Train Right Mountain Biking [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I bought a nice Cyclops trainer and was excited to stay in shape over winter. After 20 minutes I was so bored I quit my workout...until I got this video. The video breaks the workout into two main segments, so you don't feel like you are riding for an hour. I also like the intervals training, which are mountain biking specific.
I am an amateur racer and I feel that this video can push me when I am in shape or just trying to hang on to my fitness over winter. I can't say this has me riding as much as I would outside, but without it my trainer would just be a paperweight. I can't compare to many other videos, but one video did come with the trainer and I would not speak as highly of it. I now keep the mountain biking DVD in at all times.

This review is from: Train Right Mountain Biking [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I purchased this tape to help train for mountain bike races. I have never raced before and decided to give it a shot this year. My first race is in April and I wanted to train during the winter indoors to give me a little edge when April comes around. It isn't an easy workout, but it definately has helped to improve my strength and increase my lactate threshold. I also purchased the CTS Train Right Climbing tape and the Utah Mountain Bike Training DVD as part of my training plan. I paid very little for this tape and it was worth more than I paid for it. I just wish the CTS guys would come out with more mountain biking specific training videos as well as include scenes of mountain biking outdoors on single track instead of watching people indoors on trainers. Between the CTS Train Right Climbing and the CTS Mountain Biking tape, the CTS Mountain Biking tape is a better workout, more enjoyable, and more mountain biking specific. The Utah Mountain Bike Training DVD that I have been using is better than both of the CTS tapes for mountain bike training specific intervals and burns the most calories. Unfortunately, they have only made the one DVD, and I wasn't able to purchase this DVD from Amazon.
