5.0 out of 5 stars One of the great americana records....
If you like quality songwriting, good melodies and appreciate the finer americana (wilco, whiskeytown, jayhawks, silos, etc), this is a must have record. They apparently broke up after the next record, but these guys were the real deal....

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't expect another "Nothing Stops Moving"
I really have mixed feelings about writing this review right now because I have only had the disc for a few days. However, I wanted to warn people who thought this may be like the other 2 Gingersol discs, and buy it on that strength alone. Unlike the first two which had a Replacements/early Wilco feel, this one is much more polished and refined. The songs are well...

5.0 out of 5 stars Once every few years...., May 1, 2003

Once every few years I find a record that I cannot stop playing and that is every bit a work of art. This is that record. Great songwriting, tasteful production and songs that run circles in your brain. Thank you to my friend who recommended my favorite CD of the last few years....

Unlike the first two which had a Replacements/early Wilco feel, this one is much more polished and refined. The songs are well crafted, but I don't hear that raw energy on this one. I would encourage you to try and listen to it before you buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another AMAZING record from GINGERSOL!, April 9, 2002

This record is proof positive that you don't have to love every single track to love the album. I'll be honest, there's one or two songs I could do without. But Francis Coppola once said, "It's the moments you catch that count. Not the ones you don't." And this album is chock full of caught moments! Tagliere's briliant songwriting is displayed yet again. Few songwriters can have me jubilantly singing along to a chorus, of what is basically a brutal (yet honest) personal account, as if I was singing along to CAN'T BUY ME LOVE! Yet on SLEEP ALRIGHT, that's exacly what I'm doing. OVER THE HANDLE BARS, WHO CARES, WHERE DO I STAND are all examples of the kind of songs I come to expect from Tagliere. Nothing less than breath taking. It would seem that the truth is universal; because when Tagliere sings lines like "I can't go another week, without knowing what to think/ Where do I stand" I feel he's been listening in on my thoughts, conversations and fears. He writes from a deeply personal and private place and yet it seems like the most accessible words and music I've ever heard. Let's not overlook Seth's contributions here. Aside from his obvious technical and musical talents we are also graced here with a song like FACE UP AGAIN. I'm hesitant to tell you what I think 'cus I'll get blasted for having two Beatles references in the same review. Let's just say the track "REVOLVES" around you with it's perfect blending of banjo, tamborines, blistering guitar, and great vocals. Okay, that whole "REVOLVES" reference was cheesey. But I'm sorry, the song is BEATLE-esque! I can't avoid it, and why should I? This record is glorious ROCK/POP and wouldn't be out of place in a record collection next to THE BEATLES, ELVIS COSTELLO, THE JAYHAWKS and many more. If you can appreciate the differences from EXTENDED PLAY to NOTHING STOPS MOVING and still love them both - You will love this record too. Listen to the track MAKE IT STICK 3 times, and then tell me you can get rid of this record. Go on, I dare ya. You can't.
