Until We Meet Again,
By
This review is from: Tale of a Train Wreck Lifestyle (Paperback)
Lisa Henderson is the black sheep of her family. The youngest of three, there is an obvious distinction between the way her mother treats her and her siblings. Her only saving grace is her father. But after her father takes a leave of absence, Lisa is left to fend for herself. Young and inexperienced, will Lisa make the right decisions?
Nikkisi Ling and Joshua Tune are still on the run. Unforeseen circumstances bring the fugitive duo that have been living abroad back to the United States. With plans of only being in the U.S. very temporarily, will their past catch up with them before they can leave? A chance encounter...the paths of Lisa, Nikkisi and Joshua cross. A chance encounter...one that will have drastic consequences. A chance encounter...are they all a train wreck waiting to happen? Accomplished writer Crystal Lacey Winslow has given readers what they wanted - a look into the lives of Nikki and Josh. TALE OF A TRAIN WRECK LIFESTYLE was like three books in one. The first part revisited established characters Nikki and Josh. The second part was an introduction to Lisa Henderson. The last part brings their relationship and its impact into full bloom with their trials, tribulations, joys and pains. Her mix of drama and betrayal inflates this novel with life and emotion. Though I enjoyed the update on Nikki and Josh, I felt that Lisa's story was interesting and held its own and that their portion of the story was an intrusion. Their story, like Lisa's, can stand alone - a testament to Winslow's talent. TALE OF A TRAIN WRECK LIFESTYLE is engaging and entertaining. And fans will be happy that the door has been left ajar for a possible continuation.

Hard Knock Life,

Crystal Lacey Winslow has done it again; "Tale of a Train Wreck Lifestyle" is the most captive trilogy ever!
I love the way Crystal begins this novel with former characters from her previous books, "Life, Love, and Loneliness" and "Criss Cross," Nikkisi Ling and Joshua Tune...and then introduces one a new character, Lisa Henderson. Nikkisi and Joshua are both still fugitives on the run from the U.S. for murder when Nikkisi and Lisa cross paths. Lisa Henderson is a young girl that experiences some dreadful circumstances during life that forces her to the streets of New York . Lisa has always been treated as an outcast by her mother, Julie, and yet was a princess in her daddy's eyes. Things suddenly change and Lisa's life takes a drastic turn. Treated so badly by Julie, she is forced one day to make a choice: whether to live or die by Julie. Nikkisi and Joshua come back to the U.S. for various reasons, and then Nikkisi and Lisa finally met. Lisa reminded Nikkisi of her deceased sister, Noki and they bonded instantly. However, everything that looks good is not always good. I loved reading this book as Crystal is still my #1 author! She has satisfied a craving that I've had since her novel "Criss Cross" and I will wait for the next one. Reviewed by: Tekisha

Trainwreck lifestyle is an understatement. I don't like informing people of what happened in the book. The only thing I can say is that it was a page turner from page 1. A must buy for your urban fiction collection - not a borrow.

Instead of kisses, we get kicks,
This review is from: Tale of a Train Wreck Lifestyle (Paperback)
Lisa Henderson cannot figure out why life has dealt her the hand she is holding. But through it all, she tries to keep on going and live out her dreams, regardless of everything negative around her. Growing up in Queens with her family, Lisa always knew she wasn't her mother's favorite. When their father left and they were forced to move to Brooklyn with their grandmother, the level of hate that her own mother harbored toward her really came out. Trying to stay positive and finish high school with hopes of going to college to become a journalist, Lisa goes through so many twists and turns that you forget that this is only a story and wish you could reach out and help her.
Two favorite characters, Nikkisi Ling and Joshua Tune, resurface. Josh's first wife Parker is dying, and Josh feels obligated to go say goodbye in person. Not realizing (or not caring) how dangerous that can be for Nikki, Josh comes back to New York and dives head first back into his old ways. He calls Nikki and begs for help. She goes against her better judgment and returns to help Josh only to find him doing worst then ever. Wandering the streets of New York, Nikki and Lisa run into each other more then once and decide that maybe they can trust each other. With both women alone in the world and no one to look out for them but themselves, they both survive the best way they know how. Crystal Lacey Winslow is one of my top favorite female authors. She not only gives you a whole new story in Tale Of A Train Wreck Lifestyle, but she incorporates Nikkisi's story as if she belonged right there. She weaves their lives together so well that you don't realize that this is the third part to Life Love and Loneliness. I enjoyed the story because the message was loud and clear: You never know what makes a person do the things they do in life. I am sure plenty of people could relate to this story. Everyone's situation is different, but the message is the same. The way we are raised really does have a big impact on the kind of adult we become. I am sad to see Ms. Winslow take a break from writing, but I understand her need. Reviewed by Angie for Urban Reviews

This book was so good. I finished it in one day. I hope there is another book to follow because I still have questions about Josh and Nikki. Before you read this book read The Criss Cross and before you read the Criss Cross, read Life Love and Lonliness. You will not be disappointed with these books.

Just wanted to say, well done Crystal, I've read all your books containing Nikki and Joshua, and you kept me turning pages with this one...The end got me ready for the next chapter of the book...To me its a lot of unanswered questions. As you said in the beginning of the book, your taking a break, please don't be long!!!

The book was ok for me, the only reason why I finished it was because I thought it would add clarity at the end but it never did, what happened to Timothy and Ms. S? Did Ishmael ever see the baby? I thought the characters where one dimensional and flat. I would rather borrow than buy this book.

This review is from: Tale of a Train Wreck Lifestyle (Paperback)
The book was good, Lisa had a hard life, but not to hard to be a snitch. Her mother was just bugged out. I wish there was more about the mother going to jail for beating the hell out of the father, but I guess that will be in part two. The book was a good read.
