i'm absolutely remembering more, and feel sharper. the log in the back shows me that i'm remembering between 4 and 5 words more on the word test, and i'm getting faster at all the exercises. i'm almost a whiz at dinner calculating the tip. new ground for me!
i have another two weeks left in the book - and i'll probably buy another. overall - highly recommended.

Wonderful Book for Elders,

I'm sorry I didn't run across this book two years ago when it first came out. I'm a board-certified cognitive therapist and although my expertise is in depression where I use exercises to re-wire the brain out of depressive episodes and which inspired my own book BRAINSWITCH OUT OF DEPRESSION, this book is wonderful for maintaining an already healthy brain and mind and can be helpful to anybody.

A great book for exercising your brain. Easy to follow, simple and effective. After doing the exercises for almost 60 days I have seen definite improvement in my ability to recall and remember information.

I'm not quiet 1/2 way through the book yet; however, the exercises are very simple...almost childlike, but I've noticed that I am processing information faster and my retention appears to have improved. Sort of lends credence to that the simplest solutions are sometimes the best when attacking complicated problems.

When i first bought this book, i was in need for something to help me about my forgetfulness and memory loss. Meaning: I found that i have not been able to memorize a license plate of a car that just drove by for even more then 15 secs! I felt pretty pathetic. So i researched the web and choose this book here. Let me tell you, it's fun to use, i think, and it works!

Really had fun making this part of my daily routine. I became faster with my mental calculations as a result of the book and moved from being a lazy thinker depending on my calculator for simple math.

Do Not Buy This Book - Use kids homework instead.,

I bought this book because I read somewhere that author (Dr. Ryuta Kawashima) was heading research studies that showed that your brain functions degrade slower if you ride a motorcycle daily. "Now this guy is on to something" I thought to myself.
So I bought his book but I must say - Do not buy this book. You are better off doing the math problems in your 3rd graders math homework because that is basically what this "book" is... its pages and pages of 3rd grade level math problems (single digit addition, subtraction, multiplication and division e.g. 6x3 or 9-4). Page 4 of the book is the 'Table of Contents'. Pages 5 to 11 are some short descriptions, mostly involving the differences between left brain-right brain stuff, kinda interseting, but very little content. THEN PAGES 12 to 156 ARE ALL MATH PROBLEMS, the end! Exactly the kind of math sheets you had in your elementary school Math workbook. Apparently your supposed to do one of these worksheets every few days, booooring. While the math problems may "Train Your Brain" this book is very slim on content.
