Book Description

September 1, 2009 Love Inspired
How is Brent Runyan supposed to reach his troubled nephew? The workaholic businessman knows nothing about providing a real home to the orphaned boy who needs him so much. Special education teacher Molly Manning thinks the answer is threefold: love, time--and a dog. But Brent can barely let his nephew into his heart, let alone a golden retriever. With his tragic past, Brent knows what can happen when you love anything: you can lose it. Until Molly asks this dad-in-training to start with the basics by letting her stay...forever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dad in training January 8, 2013
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Molly, Brent and Randy were all fascinating characters in this book. They each had baggage to bring to the relationship. Many had done some wild and crazy things in high school. She didn't feel worth of anyone loving her. She didn't think she ever wanted another man in her life ever again. Brent experienced a loss in his childhood that could really hurt a young boy. It wasn't the two legged kind - it was the four legged. Though his father loved him, perhaps he didn't love him in the right way. And then there's Randy. At eleven years old, Randy had already been abandoned by his mother, lost his father in a hunting accident, and felt like a burden to his grandfather and uncle.

All of them were lost, and it took the three together to show each other the way through life. They all bonded together along with the grandfather and dog.

This was a cute story. The romance was a bit weak in the beginning but quickly strengthened as the book went on. Though I didn't see the romance starting, I could see it growing into what it became by the end of the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heart Touching and Fun September 28, 2009
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Molly Manning works with learning disabled kids. She also has a soft touch for abused dogs. Her greatest desire is to bring the two together The kids learn by training the dogs, and it works well. The problem is she needs more room, and she wants Brent Runyon's building. Yes, she knows it's valuable. It's also vacant. So if he isn't going to use it, why not let her have it?
Well, for one thing, Brent wants to keep it. And while he's attracted to Molly, he has a few problems of his own, and this woman looks like trouble. He has all he can do learning to be a father to his troubled nephew, but he can't seem to make Molly go away.
A fun filled and enjoyable story of faith, hope and forgiveness, and a love strong enough to break down all barriers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dad In Training September 12, 2009
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Great book. Loved the themes in the book like waiting on God's timing and forgiving not only others, but yourself also. Flows very nicely so it's not choppy and confusing. Well rounded characters that makes you feel like you know them by the end of the book. Loved how Molly didn't give up on her dreams and how Brent was able to leave his past behind him and find forgiveness after carrying a weight on his shoulders for years. This is a book you won't regret buying!
