Donna Walker Tileston is a veteran teacher and administrator. She is currently the president of Strategic Teaching and Learning, a consulting firm that provides services to schools throughout the United States and worldwide. Donna’s publications include Ten Best Teaching Practices: How Brain Research, Learning Styles, and Standards Define Teaching Competencies (2000), which has been on Corwin's bestseller list since its first year in print, in addition to the ten-volume award-winning series What Every Teacher Should Know, now in its second edition. Other recent titles are Teaching Strategies for Active Learning (2006), Teaching Strategies that Prepare Students for High Stakes Tests (2008), and Closing the Poverty and Culture Gap (2009). Donna Walker Tileston, EdD, has experience in teaching, administration, research, writing, software development, and consulting. Her administrative service includes curriculum development, management, technology, finance, grants management, public relations, and drug abuse prevention programs. A brain researcher, her interests include the factors that inhibit learning or increase the brain's ability to put information into long-term memory.

An accomplished author, Dr. Walker Tileston wrote the best-selling series What Every Teacher Should Know, which won the Association of Educational Publisher's Distinguished Achievement Award in 2005. The What Every Teacher Should Know series is offered for graduate-level credits at California State University and Hamline University; many of her courses are offered for alternative certification in various states.

Dr. Walker Tileston has presented at international, national, and state conferences to thousands of educators and has presented her research in Warsaw and The Hague. She is the author of Closing the RTI Gap and a coauthor of Why Culture Counts. Her work can be further explored at

Format: Paperback
The reproducibles are very basic and redundant. They really weren't very helpful. Not very insightful. Very repetitive.
