Over the years my family has had many labs whether they are mix or purebreed. The major point I enjoyed is knowing your labs personality. We know they chew to no end, like water, tennis balls, and are very very stubborn. this books tells you well, yes, they would live with a tennis ball in there mouth all the time, because of breeding. The best way to deal with the chewing and biting. This is worth every penny. Plus it has great tricks to teach you Lab. A Must have if you own a lab. Enjoy your dog to the fullest.

This is an extremely good, basic guide to dealing with every aspect of a Lab's introduction into your home and training. What I love most is that there's no crazy long rhetoric about anything; it's just straight information. It tells you exactly what you'll need to get before your lab comes home and exactly what you'll need to do during the first months. Not sure I would have found it so useful if I wasn't getting a puppy, though.
I'm only giving it four starts because it left out a MAJOR, important piece of information that ended up making our Lab pretty sick... TRANSITIONING THE FOOD! I relied on this book as my source of info (which, admittedly, I shouldn't have done,) and when I fed her the new food the night we came home... well, I'll spare you the details, but it wasn't pretty.
