5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and Successful Method
Crate training works because dogs, like their wild ancestors, desire a snug "den" that affords security and privacy. When dogs are crate trained properly, they accept and even enjoy their sequestered time.
The author, Pat Storer, is a dog breeder, a show judge, a specialist in dog temperament, and the author of eight animal-care books.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality & very little information
I bought this book hoping to get some helpful tips on how to crate-trained my chihuahua, but instead of "HOW TO", there're tons of common-sense type information like "why it's important to crate-train...."! In addition, I'm very disappointed with the printing quality. It's acuatlly not a book, but booklet!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Very little information, November 8, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Crate Training Your Dog (Storey's Country Wisdom Bulletin A-267) (Storey Country Wisdom Bulletin, a-267) (Paperback)
Book is not worth buying. Found very little information in it. I would not recommend this. A well written puppy training book has much more information in it.

This book didn't teach me anything I didn't already know. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

This booklet is not worth the money. There was nothing helpful beyond common sense. Save your dollars for a box of bisquits.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time or money!, January 15, 2007
This review is from: Crate Training Your Dog (Storey's Country Wisdom Bulletin A-267) (Storey Country Wisdom Bulletin, a-267) (Paperback)
If you want to learn about crate training your puppy, buy a book about raising your specific breed of dog or get a copy of How to Raise a Puppy You Can Live With. This 'book' (I would call it a pamphlet!) does not have any information that any decent book on raising puppies does not.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crate Training Jamie Jump Up, February 8, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Crate Training Your Dog (Storey's Country Wisdom Bulletin A-267) (Storey Country Wisdom Bulletin, a-267) (Paperback)
The information in this book gives me very good guidelines for training Jamie, which I appreciated since I did not know how to go about it with my first dog, Beau. It is knowing how to start & to carry through with the training that I needed to know. It is slow but it is working.

Shipping etc was super fast - super easy purchase.. I didn't read close enough - thought I was getting a book - got a pamphlet type of thing! AND...If you read the title right up top... it says..."wisdom bulletin" DUH me! so I don't really have any complaints - still a good source of information - I just paid more for this lil pamphlet than I did for some hardcover books!! LOL Thanks!

The most important part of the book was were it stated not to use the crate as a punishment, make it a place where the dog could go to be away from things and rest. Thank you.
