Book Description

Training Guides (New Riders) December 14, 2001
Besides enabling the exam candidate to pass Exam 70-244, this book will teach network administrators to configure, maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft networks that still have Windows NT Server as the controlling operating system. Although officially replaced by Windows 2000, it is clear that it will be some years before Windows NT disappears from the network mainstream. There are currently tens of thousands of licensed seats of Windows NT 4.0 Server, and a full migration to Windows 2000 will not happen overnight.

The CD features our ExamGear, Training Guide Edition product, including:

  • Test simulation
  • Nearly 200 practice questions
  • Electronic study cards
  • Electronic flash cards
  • Electronic copy of book
  • And more!

About the Author

Roberta Bragg, CISSP, MCSE, MCT, is a veteran of more than 20 years of information system experience, and currently specializes in Windows NT and Windows 2000 security issues. She is a columnist (Security Advisor) and contributing editor for Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine and a frequent contributor of security-related articles for popular industry magazines and e-zines. She can be found consulting, teaching, and speaking at conferences, training centers, and private companies.

James Clark, MCSE, MCT, CCNA, CCDA, is the author of the Instructor Resource Manual for Windows 2000 Directory Services Design (New Riders Publishing, 2001). Jim is a Senior Consultant for Quilogy, Inc., an Internet services and training company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. Jim has delivered Windows 2000 MOC courses since their inception, and he has helped develop many Windows NT and Windows 2000 design and deployment strategies. Jim can be reached at jclark@quilogy.com.

Jim Cooper has worked in the information technology field for more than 12 years and holds numerous certifications, including MCSE+I and MCT. Jim joined Microsoft in 1997 as a Technical Account Manager working with Fortune 500 financial businesses, assisting them with network design and implementation and Microsoft product support. He is currently working for iReadyWorld as a Senior Systems Engineer in charge of deploying an Active Directory and Exchange 2000 Application Service Provider architecture. He has contributed chapters to numerous other books for Pearson Technology Group.

Dennis Maione is the Owner and Principal Consultant at IKTHUSE Consulting Inc. He has a bachelor of science degree in computer science and has been mucking about with this stuff for more than 25 years. He is a Microsoft Systems Engineer and a Microsoft Certified Trainer. He is also a Certified Lotus Professional (Principal) in Application Development and System Administration and a Certified Lotus Instructor. He is certified in web languages (JavaScript, Java, Perl, PHP, and ASP) with Prosoft and an instructor of the same.

Dennis has myriad certification books to his credit, all published by New Riders; some of which have earned the distinction of being relegated to the bargain shelves at your local book store. The hot seller is currently Windows 2000 Server, which you should go out now and buy.

He loves to make music, spend time outside stinking up the landscape with smelly cigars, do TaeKwonDo, and scuba dive. He wants to run a marathon by the time he is 40—only a few more years to train for that one!

He has stopped looking for a band to let him sing lead but Creed and Jars of Clay are still high on his list. So, if you hear anything, let him know. Check out the IKTHUSE site at http://www.ikthuse.com and email him at books@ikthuse.com.
