This book has been very helpful when we adopted a cute Shih Tzu named Pixel.
I would recommend it to anybody wanting to raise a small dog the right way.

Wow, it was great to get my merchandise so quickly. I needed it to be prepared for the new family addition. Easy read and thorough.

The very first problem with this book is that it wasn't the book I expected. I ordered a book that had a spitting image of my Shih Tzu on the cover, only to find a completely different cover when I received the book. Nonetheless, that is merely cosmetic. What I find disappointing is the fact that in 138 pages, the author never even broached the subject of cats.

Shih Tzus and other small dogs often share households with other pets, either other small dogs or cats. Yet, there was not one word about how to train your new dog to not chase, growl at or otherwise terrorize the household felines. As I bought the book for precisely this problem, I was very disappointed.

My other complaint is that the book is puppy centric. While many, if not most, people start with puppies, there are many rescued Shih Tzu that are past puppy stage, and while they get mentioned in the book, it's barely lip service. Again, very disappointed.

This book has some good stuff in it, but it could have been a much better book.

I really liked this book. It heped me understand my new Shih Tzu puppy better.
