Book Description

Ashlyn never believed in fairy tales until she was in one.

They say ignorance is bliss, but not when you're on a centuries old hit list...and there's a traitor in your midst.

Ashlyn must decide what's most important: trusting the allies she has, or siding with those she thought were enemies. Ashlyn knows old friends can turn on her, and unlikely allies may be the best chance she has to piece her family back together. No matter what her choice, she could lose someone she loves.

And when you don't know who to trust, believe one thing: You can never trust a faerie.

5.0 out of 5 stars traitor July 11, 2012
Format:Paperback
I LOVED Bridger, so I was really excited to read Traitor. Megan has created such a full and detailed world, or should I say worlds, and I loved getting lost within them once again.

This is an action packed book. In fact, im starting to realize that anything staring Ash is going to be action packed because this girl is stubborn as a mule and just about as impulsive as they come. But I just love her. She always has the very best intentions and she is just so good hearted. She wants to save everyone.

I loved Reece so much more than Liam in this book and I am kind of scared that he is going to "find some hot faerie" to use his own words. I'm not going to tell you what goes on in the romance department of this book because guessing is half the fun. But I will say that both Liam and Reece make a pretty good showing in Traitor.

One thing that I loved about this book was that it kept me guessing! I did not see some of this coming. It is just really well done. I will say that I wish I saw more of Ash's powers. At the end of the last book she was doing all sorts of awesome stuff, but we didnt really get too many opportunities to see her further develop them in Traitor. Someone else stole the show in the powers department, I think.

The Bridger series by Megan Curd is full paranormal creatures and awesome far away worlds. It is like a fantasy mixed with a paranormal, and I just love the combination. The whole cast of charaters bring something to the story, no one is just there superficially. I am loving this series and I can't wait to see what the next book will bring!

4.5/5

I got this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why? August 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Why did the "author" publish this unedited mess?

That the author needs to have her books edited is stated by many others. I will not comment on that further. My main issue with this series is the behavior of the characters. They are in a serious war, but constantly act without coordination or planning. There are so many issues of logic in this second book, that it was hard to stay interested. Let me ask just a couple points. If Ash's eye color changes are a problem, why not wear the contacts like she did before? If she can change into anyone or anything, why doesn't she to avoid some of the drama by being someone else? Jamie changes sides to save her sibling, and then abandons the tike? Why would anyone assume that Liam would be safe? What's the deal with Chris, he is taken and returns -- then Ash runs off without even saying hello? Why did she go to Ireland to fight, then reject learning magic so she can fight a better fight? What? Why? Logic? Why would these idiots leave the isolation of Ireland to fight their battle in a town in the U.S.? There are many contradictions in the books. The problem is not the concept, it's the execution!!!

It took me all of five seconds to get sucked in the adventure packed world of Ashlyn, the awesome main character that Megan has crafted. Megan is strong, stubborn, and cares so much for her friends and family. Ash has a wit and humor about her that I can't help but fall in love with and be invested in her until I get to the last page and beyond.
I was up until all hours of the night reading this, and didn't want to stop until I got to the last page, and even then, I still wished that there was more to read.
The other characters that I loved, Liam the hot love interest. My heart broke for some of the things that he and Ash went through and had to deal with, and I love the heated moments we see between them. Meemaw is present and kick ass as ever. I love every scene that she is in, and I never know what to expect. I also love hearing what other people think about her, and how she invokes such a response from people. When I get old, I wanna be just like her, lol.
It wouldn't be complete without talking about how awesome Reece is. My heart goes out to him and his feelings, and the sacrifices he makes for the people he cares about. He is such a great best friend, even in those moments he is being hard-headed and you want to strangle him a little. I almost cried near the end at what he did, and I can't wait to see what happens in his story next.
There is never ending action, and surprises and twists that I never saw coming. Megan keeps me on my toes, and I can't wait until the next one to find out what happens to these characters that I have come to love and care about so much.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thanks for the escape! June 6, 2013

I found the first book of this 2 part series (so far, I do hope the author intends at least one more addition) by accident. But it was no accident when the author wrote this! I enjoyed getting lost from time to time as I read these stories! Thanks for the escape!

5.0 out of 5 stars Didn't want it to end. April 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I found it very hard to put this book down....just couldn't wait to see what Ashlyn and her gang were going to get into next!
I liked this one even better than Bridger. My only complaint is someone needs to proofread for grammar errors before printing. I was able to figure it out, but those errors annoy me.
I really enjoyed the story.
