When straight arrow FBI agent Roy Clayton (Guy Pearce) heads up the investigation into a dangerous international conspiracy, all clues seem to lead back to former U.S. Special Operations officer, Samir Horn (Don Cheadle). A mysterious figure with a web of connections to terrorist organizations, Horn has a knack for emerging on the scene just as a major operation goes down. To say that Don Cheadle is magnificent in this film is putting it mildly; he truly becomes the character he is portraying. As a child he sees his father killed in a car bombing and the thrust of the film is for him to seek revenge for his father. I won't say how he accomplishes this because I do not like to give away key plots of a film but the storyline is totally believable -- an eye for an eye. Mr. Cheadle is one of our finest actors today and his talent is so wasted when he is thrown into a silly movie such as the "Ocean's" genre. "Hotel Rwanda" showed the depth of this actor's capacity to capture the audience's attention and then "Traitor" came along and it captured my attention again, completely. Mark Kilion's musical score is also magnificent, very fitting for the entire film's actions. I bought the CD after seeing the film and play and enjoy it frequently, it is a treasure. See this film -- it is hauntingly beautiful.
