Editorial Reviews

Review

“TRALALA... could be the summer-fun-album you had just accepted wasn’t coming this year". --Time Out New York, May 26, 2005

About the Artist

The dream started in Brooklyn. The vision was of the ultimate Rock & Roll band, 4 girls, 3 guys, and 2 chords. Loud, simple and urgent hooks turned into infectious, vibrant anthems, retelling what was already there in the short, sweet language of pop. A Brill Building badly in need of a chimney sweep. The Ramones meets The Shangri-La’s? Is TRALALA a nod to Hubert Selby’s doomed character in Last Exit To Brooklyn? Are they a tribute to the Banana Splits anthem? Could it be Lou Reed’s brush off in Street Hassle? Perhaps. But what is true is that TRALALA with their wild, primal pop is now a rock & roll reality with their Audika Records debut.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tra-la-la!, July 10, 2005

Ever wonder what would happen in The Donnas' little sisters got into their mothers' Shangri-las and Angels 45s? That would be Tralala. And now that The Donnas are pretty much all growns up, thank god Tralala are on the scene to remind us that teenage heartbreak plus peppy girl harmonies plus three chords equals pure rock 'n' roll. In the last track, they sing "Feels so good, let's do it all over again," which is precisely why you'll keep this one on a loop for the whole summer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Oldsters: "It's alright", May 26, 2006

Oh it's a kick. Nice variety, bright songs. As a untrustworthy thirty yr old (crappy at multi-tasking), must say I look forward to Tralala's future and, uh, evolving songwriting. I wanna see them get loose. Meaty. But don't get me wrong: all those voices make crazy pretty. Good for earnest harmony junkies.

Strongest: "No Pain" and "No/Yeah"

5.0 out of 5 stars Red hot new band !, June 23, 2005
By
This review is from: Tralala (Audio CD)
This is one of the most exciting debut albums I have ever heard!

A unique sound for the 21st century, TRALALA's music has a base of retro late 50's - early 60's rock, hip-hopped and jazzed up for today's multi-tasking generation. It's a blast !
