interesting a collection of some of the better trance songs. When i first looked at this CD, I didn't know of some of the songs, but after listening to it i was pleasantly surprished. The songs are somewhat long, 6, 7 minutes long and IS contiunally mixed. Most of the songs have a fairly long intro, building up, whatever you call it to lead into the "hook", then it on some of the songs it repeats the the hook again, thats why the songs can get so long. The frist CD has some good stuff. I mainly listen to it for Cafe Del Mer, just a beautiful song (with a 2 and half minute long intro) and Gouryella, cuz all their whole four tracks they have ever put out is genius. Oh and sandstorm's on it, im sure most of you peeps have heard it, but this remix isn't bad, worth a listen. Didn't really like this version of ATB's 9pm, but its still better than the songs after it on disc 1. thought they sounded very similiar, got the female vocals going on some of them, i just couldn't get into the other tracks at the end of disc 1. Disc 2 is in my opinion the better of the two. especially the end tracks. Like "1998', "Feel the beat', and "anomaly calling your name". This version of Binary Fusion "1998" is one of the better ones i heard, and trust me have heard a bunch of them, its a popular song. Just in general this album is worth the money to go get, its also worth the time to listen to.

Amongst the Best Trance Compilations Out There!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Trance Classics (Audio CD)
The name of these two CDs sum it all up: Trance Classics. They are indeed pure classic Trance songs. What I especially like about "Trance Classics" is that the cheesy vocal trance isn't used much. The songs are therefore just the pure masterpieces of the Trance world. Whoever put this compilation together has a very good taste for Trance music. You will find all the classics like "Sandstorm", "Children", "Zombie Nation", and many many many more solid hits. There is hardly a song that I will skip. It's all continuously mixed too which is great if you are trying to throw your own Trance party and need to keep the crowd jumpin. This CD is an ABSOLUTE must in any trance collection. I own many many Trance Compilations and this one is by far one of the best out there. You can't go wrong with this one.

Perfect for beginners,

Trance, of all the electronic genres, has had the most mainstream acceptance. Trance Classics is just that. These are some of the greatest Trance songs ever made. However, for those of us who have been into underground for a while, these are almost equivalent to 'The Macarena'. But if you're just getting into underground, this is the perfect starting point.Though ATB's '9 PM (Till I come)' and Kernkraft's 'Zombie Nation' have found themselves in such widespread club play as to get scratched by the likes of ultra-pop-spinner DJ Skribble, a lot of these are totally obscured from the mainstream. Chicane's 'Saltwater', which he did with Gospel/Celtic singer Maire Brennan, got most of it's limelight in Canada and the UK. 'Anomaly' by Libra p Taylor (written by BT) has probably appeared on more soundtracks and comp. CDs than Fluke's 'Atom Bomb' or 'Absurd (Whitewash Mix)'. Though none of these artists are surprising, seeing two offerings from Darude is a little bit of eyebrow raiser. The offerings from Moby and Paul van Dyke are also surprising. One would expect 'Porcelain' way before 'Why does my heart feel so bad?', and the same is true for PvD's 'Words (For Love)' vs. 'For an Angel'. 'Cafe del Mar' (the Techno world's Woodstock) and '1998' are mainstays of Trance music and, along with Three drives on Vinyl's 'Greece 2000' and Transa's 'Enervate', were the tracks that made the original Tranceport as well as Paul Oakenfold famous. BT's 'Godspeed' is indisputably one of his best works (though I think 'Mercury and Solace' tops it by a long-shot); and 'Not over yet' by Grace has had more remixes than Delerium f Sarah McLachlan's 'Silence'. This is a perfect starting point for a solid Trance collection, but if you've been around the genre a while, it's nothing you haven't heard (repeatedly) before.

Truth in Advertising and CD Title - These are Classics,

If you've been listening and dancing to Trance for 10 years, these tracks you should already own or have moved on from but for newcomers or those who want to grab some of the classics - these are truely the trance classics.
In Dance particularly, there are lots of labels that grab a couple tracks a few years old and label them 'classics' but these really are. So if you're looking to add some Trance tracks to a late night party CD mix - these are all great. Keep in mind that if you're inviting Trance/rave fans, they might sneer at how 'uncool' these tracks are - as they're more than 5 years old - of course, they'll sneer at anything that's not a promo only white label 12" single and you don't want them at your party anyway :-) Just kidding. These are great tracks and they are classics AND they have stood the test of time - drop and of these tracks down and the dnace floor will fill up!

It's amazing how much time has already gone by. All these artists from a few years ago. ATB, Chicane, Gouryella, System F, Darude, they've returned in these continuous mixes "Trance Classics". "Trance Classics" contains 24 songs on 2 CD's. On disc 1, you have the club hits "9PM (Till I Come)" by Andre Tanneberger (a.k.a. "ATB"), "Sandstorm" by Darude, "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad" by Moby, "Godspeed" by Brian Transeau (a.k.a. "BT") and others including the song "Gouryella" by Gouryella. I haven't heard this song for a while, it was produced by dutch DJ's & producers Ferry Corsten & DJ Tiesto. No wonder it sounded so good. Grace is in disc 1 with "Not Over Yet". Now this is a classic of trance, it was released around 1996. So was Transa's "Enervate". The funny thing in the final track of the mix was that somewhere in the middle of the track, it sounded like a skip, but it was more of a blooper, it seems to be a clip of the track before, it was there for a split second then it was gone. I couldn't stop laughing at that. It was so funny. The track before "Enervate" is Paul van Dyk's "For An Angel". I've actually met Paul van Dyk once. He's awesome and so is the song. On disc 2, you have Zombie Nation with "Kernkraft 400". I first heard this song over in Ireland back in 2000. I heard it like 7 times a day there. It's that awesome. It's even played at sports events in North America. (You hear this song every time the Boston Bruins make a goal at the Fleet Center). Union Jack is on disc 2 with "Two Full Moons and a Trout". This is a song I like. Did you know? A trout spawns during full moon. The X-Cabs are on disc 2 with "Neuro". I liked "Infectious" better but this is cool. My favorite track on disc 2 is "Out Of The Blue" by System F. It seems appropriate enough to put this song on this album. It's such a good song. Also on disc 2, there's "Feel The Beat" by Darude, "Saltwater" by Chicane, "Greece 2000" by Three Drives, "Beachball" by Nalin & Kane and more. It's not a bad album overall. Heck, some of these songs have been around for almost a decade and they still sound so fresh. I'm hoping to hear more good trance in the future. Maybe they'll become classics like these.

This cd is a must have for the trance addict. These songs are put together so well. I also have vol 2, which is great but vol 1 is by far the best. My favorite song is on the second cd in vol 1 titled "saltwater" by chicane. It's not the original but it's mixed. I think the mixed version is ten times better. The best trance songs were made in the 90's. I grew up in the 90's but had no idea what trance was. I originally bought this cd when I was in Japan. It got damaged so I just bought one off here. It's weird cause vol 1 is hard to find for some reason. I could only get it used. If you are debating on getting this cd please do before the used price jumps up to high. You will NOT be dissapointed with your purchase, trust me. Let the beats flow.

Put it in and Walk Away,

Unlike other compilation albums out there, nearly every track is good so you don't have to babysit the cd player or take the time to put together playlists before a party. For whatever reason every trance album I've tried out so far has some off the wall tracks thrown in that just don't fit or ruin the flow, there isn't a track on this album that makes me cringe or want to reach for the 'skip' button, a first. Most of the tracks are light on lyrics which is also a bonus.

I missed out on much of the 90s electronic music scene, especially the club aspect. Recently I decided to dig back in time to discover some great tracks. This was the third 'overview' compiliation I bought to begin familiarizing myself with trance music, and unlike the first two, this one did not disappoint.

Jumps, not like New,

I love this CD, i have it, but my 5 month old puppy chewed up Disc 1, so i had to re-purchase, i opted to buy a like new, as the new is so expensive, how ever the like New jumped, so i returned it.
It should not be classified as like New, only as used. But as for the cd, it is great, love all the tracks. Only gave the like new a 1 star rating, but the cd itself 5 star.
