An Argument for Renouncing One's American Citizenship,
By A Customer
This review is from: Trance: Formation of America (Paperback)
A century ago a book such as this would have been a call to the barricades. Today with the state as powerful as it is, this book simply makes you want to leave the United States and let it rot. For those who haven't read the book, O'Brien's story is one of a survivor of a CIA-sponsored program called MK Ultra, which aimed to explore the limits of human "suggestibility." The program began following World War II, when numerous top Nazi scientists resettled in the United States, at the invitation of the CIA, to continue their research into mind control. The project was based upon the research finding that if a person is severely traumatized, he or she will "split" off a "multiple personality" as a defense mechanism. It was those "multiples" that CIA scientists sought (successfully) to "program." Today thousand of people exist as mind-controlled slaves whose "programs" for various activities, such as performance in pornography films, prostitution, message carrying, and drug "muling," can be "accessed" by their "controllers" by cryptic keywords. A reader curious about O'Brien's book should be forewarned of the exceptionally bizarre nature of its revelations. In fact, at least in my view, the revelations are so bizarre, it would probably be a bad move to read this book without first reading something that "builds" up to it. A good primer on the subject would be John Decamp's _The Franklin Cover-Up_. Those who do read the book and are of sufficient independent thought to see through the haze of disinformation put forward every day by the state-influenced newspapers and magazines and see the truth in O'Brien's book are placed in a difficult position. They're in possession of extremely rare knowledge, and, futhermore, extremely bleak knowledge. For the picture painted by O'Brien, unfortunately, is nearly without hope. I am not a religious person, and I have always been both mildly amused and mildly offended by the stories of organized religion. But this is, I must admit, a book that can change such a person as me, for after reading _Tranceformation of America_, I'm left asking an unanswerable question. Where did all this wickedness come from?

Valuable resource about trauma-based mind control,
By
This review is from: Trance: Formation of America (Paperback)
I knew Cathy O'Brien as a fellow government mind-control victim in the more distant past. We briefly reconnected in the mid-90s when I was encouraged to hire her common-law-husband, Mark Phillips, to deprogram my mind. Although my subsequent experiences with him were very negative and unhealthy, I am reasonably certain that the majority of Cathy's recollections in Trance Formation are probably valid. By using numerous personal examples, she does an excellent job of explaining how trauma, hypnosis, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (metaphorical language) are effectively used by expert mind-control perpetrators to dissociate and control the minds of victims - from childhood on through adulthood. Because I waited until I'd remembered the bulk of my own traumatic experiences before reading her book, I successfully avoided memory contamination. Having journaled thousands of emerging memories, I was quite surprised that many of the phrases - containing metaphorical, double-meanings (NLP) - that had been used to control my mind, were exactly the same ones that she'd remembered! (My memories didn't come from Mark; I'd remembered and journaled most of them before hiring him.) Regardless of the identities of the alleged perpetrators whom Cathy names, the information that she provides about the use of mind-control "language" (combined Eriksonian hypnosis and NLP) can be very helpful for professionals working with mind-control survivors - if nothing else, as a translation guide. I would not use the book for more than that, however. After breaking away from Mark, I realized that by focusing on the metaphorical mental programming and visualized, alternative inner worlds that had been created in my mind by mental programmers, I conveniently avoided facing the most important reasons for my being severely dissociated. I'd been seriously hurt and betrayed, by many individuals, particularly those who society expected to protect and love me. As I redirected my attention onto working through my foundational betrayal pain with the help of qualified mental health professionals, I was able to integrate. I also caution readers not to internalize the pervasive fear strongly expressed in Cathy's book. Such abject fear and hopelessness are often expressed by mind-control survivors in their books. After all, this was their state of mind as victim-slaves! Only as we begin to experience more "normal" life, and to interact mostly with "normal" people, do we begin to lose our deep dread that the world is going to be taken over by the people who hurt us - as our lives had been taken over by them in the past. Since I've chosen to interact mostly with people who were not victims in the past, I've discovered that regardless of what direction our country goes from here, reasonably decent people will not lose their ability to love and care for one another. And control-addicted perpetrators of mental control will always be the real prisoners - of themselves - because they will never be capable of experiencing real love and caring. (Raping, torturing, and snorting cocaine are totally inadequate substitutes for the real experience.) Because of this, they will always lose, whereas those who choose to live reasonably moral and decent lives, and to love and care about each other, will always win.

I Have Been Awakened to the REAL World.....,
By Anna (Florida United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trance formation of America
I hope this book will reach as many Americans as possible! I had to read this in "small doses" as I am sure many others who read it did. To know that our leaders, the people we all "thought" we elected to serve and protect us, are such a breed of dispicable, perverse animals that they would abuse young children. We are nothing but a bunch of "Sheeple" being led around and lied to each day by the media, controlled by the big boys! Just think, our lives are being controlled by the food we eat, the water we drink, the lies on television, and even the air we breathe. We need to wake up and know that our children and grandchildren are at risk. The controlled education they receive in public schools, the vaccinations they get and it never ends. I wish I could sit down and talk with Cathy and Mark, the authors of the book, to learn more of what goes on behind the scenes in our government. If you are weak of heart, you can't digest this book....but if you are a brave one knowing you are living in a Brave New World.....please read this book. I remember when Bush, Sr. was president, he talked about the NWO....well...folks....it is here and now....

A must-read.,

This review is from: Trance: Formation of America (Paperback)
The Tranceformation of America is a shocking book, but one which, I have to believe, contains much truth. I saw and experienced much of that sort of thing (not to the same degree) in Massachusetts during the Reagan/Bush years. I saw high-level academic, media, political and church figures engaged in a collusive sexual abuse, exploitation, manipulation (terror) network, which included voyeurism, surveillance, twisting of information, lying and slander, pillage and even worse (if they could get away with it). I have to believe that actual slavery, abuse of children, indulgences on every level, and crime (as described in this book) are true. Those who - through the media - project themselves as being the most respected are, in fact, the most wicked. What is especially timely about this book is that Ms. O'Brien mentions George Bush Sr. and Jr. repeatedly, and we are facing an election with George Bush Jr. If the American public were to read this book, they would never let him into office. According to Ms. O'Brien, he participated in - and covered for his father in - mind-control activities, abuse of adolescent females, implementation of New World Order police tactics (Lake/Mount Shasta compound in California), cocaine, heroin and white slavery trafficking, and money laundering. He was an integral part of the New World Order plan of creating chaos and mass mind control to dupe the masses, so as to usher in elite rule. One has to question how he could be spontaneously declared the front-runner and pick of the Republican establishment from day one, when he had done nothing. Was it because he will facilitate their excesses and wrongdoing - because he's their man??? It is very frightening territory - and this is a frightening book. All the more so because other "mind-control slaves" have come forth, and written books about this. There is a lot of information on the internet about these matters (Brice Taylor). I am just hoping he does not get elected - but one wonders how one can trust anyone, with such high-level crime running things. This book names names (Senator Byrd, the Bennett brothers, Ronald Reagan, Loretta Lynn, names from the Clinton administration, etc.), it names places (Bohemian Grove in California, NASA, military bases, Harvard, Patrick Leahy's mountaintop home, etc.) Every member of the public should read it.

I first heard of Cathy O'Brien through David Icke's books which was traumatic in their own right. Then I read Cathy's "Transformation" and I had to keep putting it down as to absorb her shocking testimony. This material WILL shock you and yet having been an entertainer in country music many years ago, I do not find such testimony unbelievable. The truly thought-provoking part is the role our so-called 'leaders' partake in these hideous events ESPECIALLY those of child abuse. After giving this book to a close family member, his reaction was "This cannot be true" (especially for being a member of the Republican party for over 50 years). My reaction was 'Why would Cathy O'Brien risk her life and her daughter's to publish this book if it were not true?" Makes you think. Cathy e-mailed me once with the one hope that her book will spread the 'news' that mind control does exist in America and that those of us who read her book will disseminate this information. Read this book. THE WORLD IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS.

I had heard of this book many years ago but didn't start to consider buying it until now.
I had heard of Project Monarch and MK Ultra Mind Control by reading of Fritz Springmeier's books. After reading this book of Cathy's and her other book "Access Denied", I am fully convinced that not only was she a victim of circumstances beyond her control but that there exists demonic forces at work in our society that use and abuse innocent children for the sake of "patriotism" and "world peace". There is nothing funny about the contents of this book at all. Anybody who thinks this book is funny or some joke is either extremely very stupid, or mentally demented. This books is about child pedophilia and forced prostitution of children into the hands of our so called "trusted" Presidents such as Gerald Ford who just died today. He'll be spending the rest of his deep sleep in the eternal flames of Hades for what he did in taking Cathy and her daughter's innocence away from them. I would strongly encourage everybody to read this book and read it thoroughly. This is not just a book on child pedophilia...its about our Intelligence hard at work using innocent children to pimp them out to powerful people for policy and world peace reasons. I really appreciate Cathy and Mark putting their lives on the line to get this book out to the people. We need to know what the hell is wrong with this country and why NAFTA is being implemented. Now I understand why. This is now the time to repeal the National Security Act of 1947, bring back the Bricker Amendment, and denounce Title 50 USC Section 1520 concerning War and National Defense. What we have running this country are criminals that are very dangerous to our national security. Joan from California

TRUE Americans don't shut their eyes to the TRUTH!,
This review is from: Trance: Formation of America (Paperback)
Cathy O'Brien is either 100% lying or 100% telling the truth. Anyone who truly wants to know can go to any library, book store or search the Internet for materials about mind control, MK-ULTRA, CIA drug connections, and the New World Order. Her story fits right in the middle of these and reveals that we are already 99% New World Order, with our God-given freedoms just about completely gone. God in His mercy is using people like Cathy and Mark who will be courageous enough to tell their story so that those of us who have been in the dark, because of NWO lies being preached everywhere, can see and join the battle. I'd give this book a 100 star rating if I could because of the courage it took to write. IT IS A MUST READ FOR ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO IS CONCERNED AT ALL ABOUT THE TRUE CONDITION OF OUR COUNTRY.

Extremely Important Book by a Heroic Couple with Heart,
By Avocadess (Austin, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trance: Formation of America (Paperback)
First I would like to correct what another reviewer said, which was that Mark Phillips used to be a CIA agent and then commented, "Do they ever retire?" I have both of their books (actually only halfway through this one as it is hard to read fast, so much to digest) and have seen them speak at two difference conferences by watching the videotapes. Mark never pretends to be an ex-CIA agent -- rather, he was a CIA operative in the sense that he was employed by the CIA without ever being directly recruited into the Central Intelligence Agency. There is a difference. He did a lot of work on projects that required government clearance and has to keep some things under his hat or he would be thrown in prison, but luckily he was able to use much of what he learned in helping Cathy to deprogram herself. I first heard about Cathy and Mark over a year ago from a friend who was utterly convinced they were "for real." However the stories she told me about them sounded so outlandish that frankly I was not ready to find out if it was true. It took me a full year before I could bring myself to even check it out. And when I did, I used all available manner of analysis as my disposal as well as collaborative information and common sense and the downright feeling one gets in their "gut" when watching a person speak and looking at their eyes (as one can do when watching their videos), and I really have no choice but to believe their story is real. As for the reviewer who said this book is good for a laugh, well, sorry, but I think that is just sick. There is nothing funny about this book. It is not good for a laugh. I really appreciate the HEART this couple have. The fact they have taken on the "system" with the courage that they have and lived on this long to tell about it shows what real WINNERS these two are, and I feel we all owe them a lot for getting out their story. Mark Phillips has some wonderful coping mechanisms and quotes which I never heard before and which help me in my own life and sense of hope and optimism, such as "Truth lives a wretched life, but it outlives a lie every time!" I did not want to believe what they say. However denial is not a solution to anything and only makes problems worse. I had to face some things myself in order to confront this. And it has been a good thing. And most especially I applaud Cathy O'Brien and Mark Phillips, beautiful souls that they are, for being Shining Examples of just what decent human beings with real values do when confronted with monstrous truths -- no matter how insidious, no matter how embarrassing, and without any real financial reward. Another reason I wanted to write this review was to encourage those who wish to purchase their books to purchase them at retail price either here at Amazon.com or directly from their website, http://trance-formation.com, so that Mark and Cathy can get a few dollars profit from your purchase. They deserve to be able to at least purchase decent groceries. These are truly an American heroine and hero!

The blueprint for David Lynch's Blue Velvet,
By KSG "ksgnyc" (New York, NY United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trance: Formation of America (Paperback)
According to Mark Phillips and Cathy O'Brien, the United States is run by an elite group of New World Order fanatics who are involved in the abduction of sexually abused children. These children are brainwashed and turned into slaves by the US Government. Cathy O'Brien claims that she was abducted into the CIA's MK Ultra mind control project, suffered years of torture and abuse and would have been killed if not for her rescue by Mark Phillips. Written in a lucid hallucinatory style, Trance is hard to put down. The names named and the crimes sighted are of a magnitude beyond anything you can imagine. One of the strangest books that I have ever read.

This review is from: Trance: Formation of America (Paperback)
TRANCEformation is truly one of the most important books you will ever read. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed it before now. I think because it scared me when I first read it - as it will scare you. I was more concerned, then, what people would think of someone who would even read such a book! Since then, I have read so many others that validate the incredible stories in this book, and I have seen Cathy and Mark's video on Google. She is impressive, indeed. These stories make perfect sense to me now, unfortunately, and more so as time goes by and "reality" makes less and less sense. Al Qaeda? Please. The Black Boxes were destroyed but a Muslim passport was found intact? I don't believe anything the government says anymore. I am much more likely to believe Cathy O'Brien.
