Book Description

December 10, 2007
In the industrial wastelands of a post-cataclysmic world, The Tranceptor has escaped the trap laid for her at Waystation 56 with the help of local boy Hyu. The fugitives pause for a much-needed rest at a desert oasis where Hyu receives his reward -- a sun-drenched erotic encounter with Uma and Una, the Tranceptor's buxom horsegirls. Meanwhile, Raika is forced to negotiate a stand-off between his co-workers and the Tranceptor's former partner-in-crime, the luscious and deadly Ravanna who is eager to be reunited with her well-hung horseboys... From the creator of Spider Garden and Lumenagerie.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hard to resist if you liked Transceptor: Book One, January 14, 2008
By
This review is from: Tranceptor: Iron Gauge - Part One (Tranceptor Book Two) (Paperback)
I'm a big fan of Michael Manning's fetish art. As an artist, his comics are often discribed as being reminiscent of classical Japanese wood block prints. The plots are thin, but that never bothered me since the point is really to enjoy the erotic art. And when it comes to art, Manning delivers. His black and white figures are drawn with simple, clean, fluid lines. The fetish elements are imaginative, sexy and even beautiful. If you think you could enjoy a potent mixture of sci-fi, bondage and harcore comics, you really can't go wrong by buying "Tranceptor: The Way Station". And this made it impossible for me to avoid purchasing the second installment named "Tranceptor: Book Two: Iron Gauge, Part One". Unfortunately, as the title suggests, this is only the first part of a second book. Consequently, even though the art is up to the same standard set in the first comic, the story feels distinctly unfinished. Which is too bad since "The Way Station" hinted at a very interesting and byzantine world beyond it's desert setting. But we don't see any more of it in the follow-up. "Part One of Iron Guage" captures the main characters in a story-line lull as they recuperate from the action that took place in "The Way Station". Fans of the first book will still find it hard to resist this purchase, but people should beware. The sexuality is defintely kinky and not for the easily offended. Also, I strongly recommend that people first read "Transceptor: The Way Station". Without that context, "Iron Guage" will be a very unsatisfying stand-alone purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars please your ladyship may I have more?, May 21, 2008
This review is from: Tranceptor: Iron Gauge - Part One (Tranceptor Book Two) (Paperback)
Tranceptor is a bit slippery to peg. You can't call it porn its far more than that and Sci-Fi adventure just cheapens it because its got that something special that is unique to itself. Tranceptor carves it own territory where erotic 'boner inspiring' illustration meets a fun action story. This is a new world where sex is accepted as natural and there is even a certain sweetness that I'm not sure the writers meant to share but there it is revealing a good deal of heart. I'm looking forward to the next book. You have to give these guys credit for making us wait almost a decade and still they manage to keep up the suspense.

Michael Manning's art is always amazing. This continues where my favorite story, Tranceptor, left off. If you liked Tranceptor, you'll like this one. It doesn't get too far along plot wise, so I'm already hungering for Part two of book two, but it's well worth a read!
