Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

In this pithy, would-be full-service self help, Wilson seeks to motivate women to be their best selves, without losing sight of what makes us human. Helpful and humorous, Wilson's friendly style is welcoming, if occasionally cringe-inducing (cutesy internet vernacular, like substituting "heart" for "like," is sure to wear on certain readers). Attempting to cover a broad range of women's lifestyle topics-eating better, exercising, going green, finding inner peace, entrepreneurship-Wilson's guide is occasionally scanty on details, and heavily lopsided toward the aspiring businesswoman: eating suggestions span little more than a page, while nearly half the text is devoted to small business growth. As an accomplished entrepreneur (founder of a women's advocacy group and her own "eco-fashion" line), Wilson's business advice is valuable and well-considered, but would served better in a more narrow, career-focused volume, rather than as part of a holistic guide to life. END

As a longtime reader of Kimberly Wilson's blog, I was excited to read her second book. It turned out to be just what I was looking for -- inspiration to live a more organized and authentic life that meshes with my ambitions and dreams. Through an easy-to-read writing style, Kimberly shares her own path to becoming the successful business owner and entrepreneur she is today along with tips for others hoping to follow in her footsteps. I found myself taking many notes on steps I wanted to take and implement as I was reading the book. I recommend it to anyone looking for a little self-introspection and gentle encouragement.

Kimberly had done it again! Her first book inspired me to finish my graduate degree and sign up for a yoga teacher training program. Now with my M.S. degree and actively teaching yoga classes each week, 'what is next?' I wondered? Perfect timing for her new book to come out. Kimberly is just like you and me with the exception that she has an inner quality of just knowing what is needed in her community and the larger community that she has created with her blog, clothing line, retreats and books.
If you love yoga, want to be a slightly better person, do something good for your community and maybe just find some inner contenment, this is the book to buy! If you haven't already picked up her first book, Hip Tranquil Chick, I highly recommend that one too!
I was stumped many years ago in wondering how I could call myself a yogi and still like to shop for clothes, wear makeup, love the internet and my ipod, and just be a part of the modern world. Kimberly had the answer and it is a great one! I love, love, love her for opening herself and her world to all of us so that we can become our own Tranquilistas!!

Kimberly Wilson is one of my heroes. Just one year older than me, this amazing woman is a yoga teacher and creative director and founder of the (three!) Tranquil Space yoga studios in the D.C. area. She designs and runs an eco-conscious fashion line that uses only sustainably harvested bamboo fabric; oversees the non-profit foundation she started; blogs and podcasts weekly interviews with inspiring women + tranquil yoga poses; and does everything with her very own, very cultivated personal *style*, always making time to indulge in precious solo time, like baths, "artist dates," and jewelry-making for fun.

Oh, she's also written two books. Her first, Hip Tranquil Chick, is one of my old-school favorites on lifestyle and yoga.

Needless to say, Tranquilista is my new favorite guide to life. In it, she covers everything from adding more creativity to your day, taking time for yourself, finding space in your life to create, defining your personal style, living green - even launching a non-profit! All topics are covered in step-by-step and totally readable ways - again, this woman does NOT compromise her personal style ever! She is truly a model for the creative, independent woman. And though it seems that if one DID all of the stuff in the book, there'd be no time left over to build and cultivate a romantic relationship - yet Wilson herself has been with her beau and her pets for several years, none worse for the wear!

I put the book down utterly inspired ~ definitely my new favorite & I know for sure I will be referring back to it many times in the future.

Kimberly Wilson takes burgeoning Tranquilistas on a journey to find how to balance work and play, while bringing more tranquility in our everyday lives. The modern woman often gets caught up in the daily hassles in life and overlooks tranquility. Wilson provides oodles of tips and tricks as to how to incorporate more tranquility into life, through sipping tea, do-gooding, yoga, etc. The second half of the book is an encouraging guide to becoming your own entrepreneur, while gently reminding us that having the most eco-fabulous booming business will not happen over night. Tranquilista is a great guide for women who are wanting to start their own business or enhance their current career and life path, or women who want to simply have control in their lives.

Kimberly's book "Tranquilista" is a must read, I personally could not get enough (I've read it 3 x's)! I not only read and bought the actual book but also purchased it for my Kindle where I could listen to it as well. Kimberly walks you through the steps of how to become a successful Entrepreneur! Not only is this a book for someone who is looking to build a business but it's a lifestyle book that teaches you many other important concepts! This book is one of those books you just can't put down, you will be inspired from beginning to end and will be anxious for a sequel just as I am!!!!!! I highly recommend it!

I am a long time fan of Kimberly Wilson. When she first told her blog followers she was writing a new book I was beyond excited. The past year had been extremely tough for me and I was thinking about making some serious changes in my life and had absolutely no idea where to even begin. Kimberly's book is a step by step guide written in her stylish way how to manisfest these changes. Thanks to Kimberly's guidance and cheerleading along the way, I am well on my way to creating the life that is meant for me. I recommend this book to everyone! Women and Men alike! Merci Kimberly!!
