For some reason, high-quality DVD shelves are extremely difficult to come by. Just about the only places you can find them in-store are Walmart and Ikea. And let's be honest, those shelves are garbage. After searching for months, I finally decided on this model, and I couldn't be happier.

Installation is a bit tricky, as there are so many pieces. Each of the 6 shelves consists of 3 aluminum rods. Expect to spend a solid hour putting this guy together between unboxing, fetching the appropriate fasteners, screwing the thing together, and attaching the end-caps.

I agree with the other review's gripe about media falling through the bars, however it's really pretty minor. I have seen other, similar, designs where this is solved by attaching a sliding metal "bookend" to the bars. I may look into fabricating something similar for this shelf, but it really is such a minor problem that it's not necessary in my opinion.

But most importantly, these shelves look great! They look especially good if you happen to have a black-tinted tempered-glass TV stand next to it. I think it looks particularly good with Z-Line stands.

The stand looks great and adds to the modern layout of my living room. It doesn't say it its description but it holds Blu-Ray movies no problem as well as pretty much any other type of media (minus records obviously).

I only have one minor gripes with the stand, the ability for DVD's to fall through the cracks if not removed correctly. This is avoided if you fill the entire rack, or if you don't just rip the DVD out without thinking, knocking the others over.

The price is kinda high for a DVD stand, but it's made of quality parts and is pretty sturdy. However when you think of it as another piece of furnature in your living room though it's not too bad of a price then.

I bought This unit months go. It was very time consuming to assemble. I understand that. Not a problem. When I began loading my DVDs and Blurays into the shelves they fell out. While adding to one shelf, the slightest bump would cause others to fall toward the shelf below it and a cascade of titles would pool at my feet much like in a old school video game. I tried three different orientations of the discs. Same results. Save your small shipping boxes to use a bookends. Not stylish, but it works.

Coming from China, I expected very protective packaging to protect the glass side panels and was not disappointed. Looks very elegant and the tilt angle make my dvd's so much more readable.

The rack was fairly simple to assemble. There was one rod that I needed to use a different screw on because there was some metal that was not removed on the end at the hole. Once assembled it is a little tricky putting the DVDs on the rods. You have to use the stoppers to hold them up or they fall through. Once they are in place it looks nice.
