This is a class 2 card, operating at a speed of 2 MB/second, which is a couple of generations old. The current fastest mainstream class is 6 (operating at 6 MB/second). I have used both a class 6 and a class 2 and the difference in speed is quite obvious.

If you prefer faster transfer speeds, don't buy this card. Buy a class 6 instead: Transcend 8 GB microSDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card TS8GUSDHC6E

If you prefer to save money (as I did in this case) then you can't go wrong with this one. It works well in my cell phone and the included adapter allows me to plug it directly into my labptop's built-in SD slot. It's compact and sturdy and should last longer than my phone.

A small word of warning - the included instructions show that this MicroSDHC card can be inserted into a MiniSD adapter but it does not ship with the adapter. It does ship with an SD adapter, so it's fine for use in either a MicroSDHC slot or an SDHC slot, but not a MiniSDHC slot. Otherwise the card performs as advertised.

I had forgotten how slow class-2 cards used to be. It seems like forever for them to store things of a significant magnitude. It can be used only with devices that do not need a speedy saving of their information.
