It's The Message That Counts,
By Peace Seeker (CA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Transcendentalism: A new Revelation (Paperback)
The contents of my book can be accessed free through several sites & selling my book was not my main goal. I was a little hasty in publishing my book without thoroughly proof reading it & in order to make corrections therein would have delayed it several weeks...but my goal was not necessarily to publish or sell a perfect book...it was to get the message out. I have posted on numerous boards. The surprising results have been that many who practice logical reasoning have suggested as an answer to religious radicals, that they read my book. Transcendentalism is not a religion but is the logic and rationality that can and should be applied to them. It is a conglomeration of similar, but diverse ideas about literature, religion, culture and philosophy. A system of philosophy emphasizing the intuitive and spiritual above the empirical and material. Kurt Kawohl

I can't remember the last time I have read anything this bad. NO, I did not read it to completion as I was fearful of my brain falling out. This is "DRIVEL" in it's purist form. I'm not referring to the topic of Transcendentalism as I do not have a problem with that. I do have a problem with authors like this who must have skipped "English Literature" while in school. I have the impression that the author's computer does not have "spell-check" otherwise it would have picked up the many errors, or repeated words like "to to", misspellings such as "ha3d" instead of 'had'. How about the asinine references such as He/She, him/it, who/that, who/what, etc. etc., ad nauseam. Here's a line I just love (NOT!) on page #20: "In a state of meditation whereby our spirit is at times be able to connect with the Ultimate or Supreme Spirit ....." Oh boy !!!I wish to believe that Mr. Kawohl personally published this because I can't imagine a legitimate publisher spending time or money on it. Thanks Amazon for the opportunity to express my opinion.

This book is causing heated debates amongst religious leaders. It is mediocre at best but it carries a powerful message. The author claims to have had spiritual experiences which disputes most present day perceptions of God/Allah. He then communicated with numerous religious leaders and representatives and reveals the websites where these discussions took place.Kurt says: "Transcendentalists are considered individuals who have attempted to correct what they saw as erroneous concepts in societies. Spiritual Transcendentalism is a philosophy by enlightened spiritualists who apply pure logic and reasoning to support their claim of the existence of a superior progressive unified spiritual intelligence (God/Allah) instead of interpreting their inspirations with minds that have been predisposed to subconscious conditioning of a Spiritual Existence that necessitates a dominant spiritual presence. Transcendence of a person's spirit into a spiritual dimension was achieved by most well known religious leaders. Abraham, Moses, Noah, Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, Krishna, Bahá'u'lláh, Zoroaster and many others of various faiths have achieved spiritual enlightenment by mastering the art of spiritual transcendence. Many were Transcendentalists who have changed the course of mankind. Social norms during the time period of their lives dictated their and their society's acceptance of a Supreme Purity, a deity of either, might, royalty, peace, or government. In this 21st Century, the Age of Technology, we are still plagued by religious beliefs that may be a contributing cause of terrorism, killings and wars between nations. Belief in a deity who causes catastrophes, punishes people and who created the universe out of nothing as if by magic was brought about by hysteria and superstition. This thought process needs to be reassessed and brought up to date. Open-minded people must use common sense to determine whether this deity was incorrectly perceived, misinterpreted and misunderstood by the masses of a bygone era. God is the rational Purity who/that does not require servitude, ritualistic prayers or a forced slavery in order for the soul to be a part of Purity for eternity. ALL religions have the same goal. A Transcendentalist is often a spiritually enlightened individual whose ultimate goal is to unite and strengthen communities or religious organization. When establishing an association with the present day problems between Jews, Christians and Muslims, we can come up with numerous answers, however if there were no distinctions between Muslims, Jews, and Christians, strife and borders would be nonexistent."

Are we seeing a reemergence of Transcendentalism? The Wikipedia Encyclopediadescribes Transcendentalism as a conglomeration of similar, but diverse ideas about literature, religion, culture and philosophy. Transcendentalism itself is difficult to define concisely, due to the diverse expressions of those involved in the movement. However, the main tenet of transcendentalists is the desire to go beyond (transcend) the prevailing literature and philosophies of the masses in order to improve society. One of the reasons that transcendentalism spans so many disciplines is due to this strength of this desire amongst those involved. In his book, Kurt who considers himself a Transcendentalist, has examined My own assessment is that God does not exist and I have written several Kurts concept is one that can possibly be the intermediary of religious A book well worth reading.
