A Clear and Understandable Roadmap to a Better Life,
By
This review is from: Transcending the Levels of Consciousness (Paperback)
Over the past couple years I have read all of Dr. Hawkins' books since Power vs. Force and was fortunate enough to attend one of his seminars. During the time I've been contemplating this material, my life has changed so much for the better I can't even begin to describe it. Suffice it to say that previously HOPELESS situations in my life and the lives of my loved ones have completely turned around. Dr Hawkins' latest book "Transcending the Levels of Consciousness" is his clearest book yet describing the ego we were all born with and how to transcend it. The Map of the Scale of Consciousness is both simple and profound. I've studied psychology and religion for years (I'm 44) and have not found a better paradigm for the human condition. The fact that you are reading this review means you are probably on a path of spiritual growth. Read this book! It will save you years of heartache and misunderstandings regarding the nature of the ego, divinity, and how to let go of the positionalities that hang like clouds between you and the pure light of unconditional love and enlightenment. Thank you Dr. Hawkins for your dedication to the liberation of the human spirit from the bondage of adversity and limitation that besets mankind from both within and without. Gloria in Excelsis Deo!

The Most Accessible Hawkins Book Yet,
By
This review is from: Transcending the Levels of Consciousness (Paperback)
I've been a fan of David Hawkins work since I was introduced to it in 2004. I've read the first 3 books of what is now referred to as his trilogy (Power vs. Force, Eye of the I and I), and now this book. This is the most accessible of his writings, in terms of structure and nomemclature for people seeking to understanding levels of consciousness. So if you haven't read a David Hawkins book before, this is a good place to start.
Long-term fans of his work may miss the scholarly and more advanced tone of Eye of the I or I, but this book provides a better "how to" look at advancing your level of consciousness, and the blocks and positionalities that define each level to be transcended for the spritual seeker on the way to enlightenment. And fans of his Map of Consciousness will be pleased to find numerous other charts that diagram ideas and perspectives that provide insight into his writing. David Hawkins writing continues to be a unique contribution to the needs of spiritual seekers.

"What it is"....Empowering.,
By
This review is from: Transcending the Levels of Consciousness (Paperback)
Transcending the Levels of Conciousness is the prolific author's latest book of Jan.2006. I fully agree with the first two reviewers. It has been described as a practical manual...yes but it's much more, covering a lot of territory. As it is focused on conciousness studies and personal growth, it will (happily) not be a source of controversy. Here Dr.Hawkins expands his insights, analogies and descriptions even more in this very useful companion to the previous books, yet it can stand alone...a wealth of information. Each chapter begins with an overview putting all in context. Seventeen aspects of conciousness are described, and even brain function research. And 29 tables are provided, including some Q&A, many more tips for students and also updated info about the muscle testing technique in Appendix C. Again Dr.Hawkins explains the unexplainable with his marvelous vocabulary, always very at home with the abstract & subjective experience, providing delightful and mind boggling concepts of creation, matter, space and time. Inspiring and user friendly.

Another Winner from Dr. Hawkins! (5 Stars),
By William S. Colton "BSC" (New York City) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Transcending the Levels of Consciousness (Paperback)
This book, along with his prior three publications, is a must for those who are genuinely interested in freedom and the art of awakening living.
Transcending the Levels of Consciousness offers the readers an in-depth understanding or the arising of the ego in the classic style of Dr. Hawkins. It is clear from this book that Dr. Hawkins is urging identification of the obstacles to enlightenment so that they can be transcended, just as Eckhart Tolle advises in The Power of Now and Mick Quinn in Power and Grace. As the Dalai Lama said: Change only takes place through action. Frankly speaking not through prayer or meditation, but through action. This new book is all about the action of transcending the ego and how to do that!! The world is finally awakening to ions of conditioning (the ego) and this new book blazes a trial to guide the courageous to end all unnecessary suffering in this lifetime. My star rating is 5! It was mistakenly entered at 2.

GET THIS BOOK AND ALL OF HIS BOOKS!!!!,

I add my voice to the chorus of others speaking about this man changing their lives. His books have been THE motivators and manuals in my spiritual development, realization and advancments.
I too had the chance to attend one of his seminars and the energy in the conference was amazing. If he is in your area then I HIGLY recommend that you attend as this man is probably the most inspiring person, mystic and teacher on the planet today. At the seminar I attended I had the chance to meet Dr. Hawkins up-close. I asked for a picture and put my arm around him for the photo. As I placed my hand around him his beautiful energy poured into mine and I was instantly invigorated and blostered. He then looked up at me and said, "Hello. It's good to see you." I was so touched that he seemed to recognize my energy and I came away from the whole experience exhausted but floating on air. Again, I urge ANY spiritual aspirant (regardless of your "religion," if you have one) to get and read all of his books. They WILL change your life for ever and for the better. Namaste.

A True Gift from Spirit,
By On The Path "Matt" (Colorado) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Transcending the Levels of Consciousness (Paperback)
I was so inspired by this book that it was imperative that I write a review (my first ever). I believe that another reviewer mentioned that "if you are reading this, then you are likely on a spiritual path" or something to that effect, so that is my assumption... I read Power vs. Force some time ago and really enjoyed it. As a typical aspirant, you want to read more and more to satisfy your hunger for improvement on the path. This book is a real treasure and has answered MANY questions that were in my mind on how to progress on the path and calmed many of my ego spiritual fantasies about everything from becoming monastic to creating a spiritual council etc. etc.
The real joy of this book is in it's simplicity and calming affect. I've had it for < 2weeks and have read it twice. Dr. Hawkins as a spiritual teacher is a true gift from God for our times and this book is a real jewel. Gloria in Excelsis Deo!

How to raise your levels of consciousness: a guide,
By Tanner Griffins (Québec) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Transcending the Levels of Consciousness (Paperback)
Spiritual persons often hear of "raising our level of consciousness". But what does that mean, really? This book which explains how to transcend levels of consciousness is part of a series of books by the author but is complete in itself.
Section One of the book describes the calibration levels below 200: levels of "falsehood", pertaining to the ego. Section Two deals with calibration levels from 200 to 499, the linear mind. Levels 500 to 599 brings us closer to the true spiritual levels of Love in Section Three. The highest levels of calibration for humans (up to 1000) are described in Section Four. Finally, Section Five is a quick guide to transcending all the levels with simple principles. The Appendices contains a Map of Consciousness, the tool of applied kinesiology on which the map is based, a short autobiography of the author, etc. This one is a book with the interesting idea of charting spiritual evolution for humans. Just by reading "Transcending the Levels of Consciousness", a spiritually oriented person could raise his consciousness levels. The last chapter consisting of suggestions to raise consciousness is extremely useful. As you read, you will find many questionable statements. The author explains his calibration levels as "not being the result of Reason of Logic nor as being judgmental". However, as soon as you put something in levels, on a scale, and you begin to try to explain it, you are doing just that: rating, using duality (truth-falsehood claims), certainly using Reason and yes, being judgmental. It has been my personal experience that certain people who follow closely David Hawkins as a teacher tend to dismiss individuals whom they think "calibrate" below 200 and they constantly try to rate themselves and others. That is the underbelly of that kind of grading system and I find it does not fit very well with spiritual wisdom to take it at face value. The author also rates his books highly (higher than many old spiritual scriptures even) using his own method, call it scientific and rejects criticism by rating it below 200 (level of falsehood). It would be too long to go over all the statements the book contains but I suggest you do a search on the internet to see what it's all about. The book has an intrinsic value for the spiritual seeker and other interested persons, is well-written and complex but know that you may find yourself questioning the value of many statements and even the method it is based on.

GPS for the Spiritual Seeker,
By
This review is from: Transcending the Levels of Consciousness (Paperback)
If your interests include both psychology and spirituality, this book is a perfect match. After you've absorbed it, you will know very precisely your position, the position of others, and all important waypoints on the map of consciousness. It will lead you very close to the "treasure" that you seek.
Hawkins gives us his most articulate and well-organized writing here. He provides a detailed psychoanalysis of each of the levels of consciousness, an explanation of the dualities and obstructions for each, and techniques for advancing to higher levels. Woven through the erudite and at times rather technical psychological treatment is the spiritual viewpoint. I found it useful not only for internal spiritual progress, but for better understanding the behavior and thinking of other people in my life who could help, or hinder, my progress. It's a must-read.

The last book you ever need to buy,
This review is from: Transcending the Levels of Consciousness (Paperback)
Having read all of David R. Hawkins books, I must say that this is perhaps the most helpful one in terms of practical value. The TLC contains detailed discussion of the scale of consciousness. The explanations are augmented with specific advice and hundreds of powerful insights. For advanced spiritual students only. This can be the last book you ever buy. I am very grateful.

Moving from self to Self-God Immanent,
By
This review is from: Transcending the Levels of Consciousness (Paperback)
Dr. Hawkins latest book is monumental. He reduces all of the previous spiritually derived writings throughout the ages to easily understandable language for the ordinary ego-mind. Contrary to some reviews that posit this book is for advanced spiritual devotees only, I wholeheartedly disagree. The mere reading of this work will materially advance one's LoC (level of consciousness), and simple conscious practicing of the "rules" (pg 333) will accelerate one's progress separate from the more rigorous meditative practices. These teachings about manifest reality and how it comes to be should replace all of the nonsensical "education" America provides K-12. Imagine the possibilities, if you will.
