5.0 out of 5 stars Really great early 90s dance & hip hop, August 29, 2009
This review is from: Transcontinental Weekend (Audio CD)
I've had this cd for around 14 years and I have always enjoyed listening to it. Its one of those "below the radar" cds that you never see again in your life, and I have to marvel at the fact that the songs are so great despite their obscurity.
I don't know how to describe the music except that most tracks are sort of club/ lounge music circa 1992. Lots of beautiful female singing. Lots of jazz samples and in fact some tracks may be very related to jazz, although this is just as much dj material. I always had it in with my techno/ dance cds.
Half of the tracks are old skool hip hop, with breakbeats and colorful rhymes. Its almost like several different artist groups got together and the cd is really several combined groups.
I just cannot believe that such beautiful dance tracks can be so obscure. Sad.
