4.0 out of 5 stars It does work with 512 MB memory cards
The product works with 512 MB memory cards, and it works with Vista. You have to download an update already mentioned in a previous review from the maker's web site. It saves the complete image of a memory card and restores it the same way. I'm only interested in making copies of my own saves because some day that 360 hard drive is going to fail. It works just fine...

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work with 256mb Memory Card
I bought this product to go with my 256mb memory card. It says that it works for 64mb and 512mb cards, but evidently it doesn't work with 256mb cards...

Ok let me start by saying that the usefulness of this product will be based on what you WANT it to do. If you want to use this to access your old memory cards on the NEW SLIM xbox 360 then this is the product for you. Here's the steps: Turn on 360. Plug card reader into a usb port on your 360. Plug in memory card, go to your xbox settings and access your memory card. It's LITERALLY as easy as plug in and access your stuff. I can't speak for people using this for other purposes, but if you just absolutely need to recover that old Orochi 2 saved game or whatever, THIS IS THE PRODUCT TO GET!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Ignore all other reviews, product is great!, December 14, 2009

This product performs exactly as advertised, it transfers all of your data from a memory card to Pc. Other reviewers obviously did not take the time to LOOK at the description of the product before purchasing it. Don't rate a product 1 star because you were an idiot and bought the wrong item, doing so is absurd. You wouldn't go to the grocery store and buy an orange, then complain that you weren't able to make apple pie with it would you? Anybody who complained about the product not transferring data from the HDD is out of there mind, simply by looking at the picture you can tell that this product is designed specifically for Memory Cards! The only reason that this product did not receive a 5 star rating is because it does not work for the 256 megabyte version of the Xbox 360 MU, which in my opinion makes zero sense. Otherwise does exactly as advertised and is incredibly useful for backing up and sharing valuable game saves.

I ordered this transfer kit unused from the toywiz. When i received it, the cd was already scratched and the cables were made of very cheap materials. I tried to get it returned, but they will not accept any returns if the package has been opened. I suggest getting another brand's transfer kit, even if costs more because this product isn't worth the price and the company is equally cheap. If you don't have the money for any of the other transfer kits on the market, and are only left with this one, when you order and receive it, try to inspect the cd and cables as well as possible BEFORE OPENING THE CASE ITSELF.

It is a little overpriced, perhaps, as it is in fact merely a connection... but it works. Only downside is, you'll have to download a BUNCH of free (legal) software if you want to transfer X360 savegames for certain games (say, Oblivion) to your PC. But apart from that, it's a good product that works well and doesn't give you too many headaches. Installation is quite simple as long as you RTFM!

It wasn't clear in the description that this product cannot save hard drive files directly. You cannot use the product to tranfer files from the Xbox hard drive onto your computer for transfer to another Xbox hard drive.

I didn't get this so much for the pc connectivity, looking at it I thought there might be a possibility that I could use my memory unit with my new 360 Slim. It works, and couldn't be simpler. Plug Memory unit into adapter, plug adapter into USB port on 360, and 360 recognizes the memory unit no problem. The Geometry Wars game that came on the memory unit plays perfectly. I have not tried to software included for the PC, as I already have an Xport and the software also works with this cable just fine.

The transfer cable works well but beware if you are running Vista or 7. They do not have any notes about the software that comes with the product. When I tried to install the software that came with the kit, it would not recognize the memory when I connected it to the computer. I found out through searching that you need to download the Xport 360 software from the Codejunkies site then install the drivers located in the install directory. There is another way to make the memory work that involves using a generic mass storage driver. I found those directions on Youtube.
