5.0 out of 5 stars The first book on applying digital images into paintings and objects, October 14, 2008
This review is from: Transferring Designs: How to Transfer any Image onto any Surface (Paperback)
This book explains how to use Lazertrans' original transfer paper and then Lazertran's silk transfer paper. This brand (more than four types of paper) works on many artistic surfaces and can also be applied to most other 'stuff' that might take an image. You need to know some Photoshop to alter the image after scanning for this product. It is the first and themost useful image transfer product.

The original Lazertran paper is a thin polymer film which is printed with the colored toner image and then can the film is separated when the paper is floated in warmish water. You can make the film disappear and integrate into oil or encaustic wax paintings. The backing film is easily cleared out with turpentine and clear oil enamel, leaving the image behind like magic - This let's artists of all types apply on the surface or integrate photos or Photoshop images into a painting or mixed media project.

You can also 'bake or heat-set' the image onto ceramics, or on to metal plate for etching. The Lazertran Silk paper holds the toner without the thin film of original Lazertran. Tto release the image onto silk apply heat low iron heat or press onto polymer clay which has not been cured. Later the image is set on polymer clay with 225° heat in an oven. Crafts people are happy with the performance and ease of this product. Fine artists guard it's use as a secret.
