Book Description

March 10, 2009 Silhouette Desire (Book 1929)

If there was anything Charlotte Hudson had learned in her twenty-five years, it was how to be proper. So how had the ambassador's granddaughter ended up on a wild movie assignment, ensconced in a centuries-old Proven?al castle with notorious French playboy Alec Montcalm? While her relatives from Hudson Pictures were busy filming at Chateau Montcalm, the real drama was going on behind the antique wooden doors--beneath satin sheets. Charlotte knew their crazy, scandalous secret liaison wouldn't last. And then she discovered she was pregnant....

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Romantic, August 4, 2009
This review is from: Transformed Into The Frenchman's Mistress (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
I find their story quiet romantic. The way Alec find ways to spend time alone with Charlotte even through underhand. I also like the development of the brotherly love that Charlotte longed for so long. The family relationship and love relationship was developed and paced pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 blue ribbons from Romance Junkies, April 5, 2009
This review is from: Transformed Into The Frenchman's Mistress (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
Charlotte Hudson doesn't normally have anything to do with her relatives business, Hudson Pictures, but a phone call from her brother has her dropping everything to fly to France where she hopes to convince her friend to allow them to film at Chateau Montcalm. The problem is her college friend Raine isn't at home and she has to find a way to convince Raine's brother to open his home to a production crew.

Alec Montcalm is a well known French playboy who values his privacy and having his home invaded by a film crew, the actors, their entourage and a host of other strangers simply isn't something he's willing to tolerate. Still, Charlotte is very persuasive and there is this incredible attraction he feels for her. Possibly if he stipulates that she must remain in residence while the film crew is there he'd be able to tolerate the whole ordeal.

This isn't the first time Alec and Charlotte have met; he'd attempted to slip her his room key three years ago while they were in attendance at the Ottobrate Ballo in Rome. It had been her first official assignment as Ambassador Cassettes's executive assistant and Alec had nearly destroyed her career in a matter of minutes. Fortunately the Ambassador is her grandfather and interceded at an opportune time to prevent anything untoward from happening.

Now the Ambassador isn't present to save her from her own desires or Alec's interest, and even if he was Charlotte can't deny the attraction between them is very real and overwhelming. She's agreed to stay while filming commences but with passion brewing between her and Alec and the disasters occurring before the film's even begun being shot, emotions broil over and result in what goes on behind the scenes being even more exciting than what's being filmed.

They've each learned from past experiences that love is fleeting and not always what you hoped for or expected - and in Alec's case it's also based on his worth and how much he's willing to spend on a woman. Can either of them learn to believe in lasting love without restraints before it's too late? The stakes in this little game they're playing are very high and hearts can easily be broken if Alec doesn't learn to accept Charlotte's feelings for him at face value.

Barbara Dunlop tells a compelling, action packed story with this addition to THE HUDSONS OF BEVERLY HILL series. TRANSFORMED INTO THE FRENCHMAN'S MISTRESS tells the story of a woman's desire to be accepted and loved by her own family while putting her into a position where she's faced with a possible love interest - one who insists he has no interest in marriage. This story is infused with charming characters, passionate situations, explosions, heated confrontations, friendships, a whole lot of frustration and two romances that captivate the imagination. Ms. Dunlop is a delightful storyteller who obviously took great care in making this story an absolute pleasure to read.
