As the author of this book, I am writing this review to focus on one of its specific features.

"Transformed Into His Likeness" is a helpful resource for pastors, church leaders, biblical counselors, small group leaders, and any Christian seeking to lead others along the path of spiritual growth. Several features about this book make it a useful tool for those involved in counseling or discipleship ministries.

1. The Put Off/Put On list (over 100) is very useful for helping fellow believers identify where personal change may be needed. The Put Off list in particular can be used by God to reveal blind spots in the life of stagnant believers and awaken them to spiritual realities.

2. The introductory teaching, "Key Biblical Principles for Personal Transformation," stimulates hope that personal change is possible. It is a concise explanation of the progressive nature of sanctification, which will help the person understand how transformation takes place in his daily life.

3. The Scriptures are a ready reference, pointing you to pertinent Bible passages for over 100 common problems with which many Christians struggle. Many of these topics are not found in a Bible concordance. Included is an alphabetical index on various topics to quickly find Scripture references.

4. The Personal Transformation Worksheet follows the sanctification process, and therefore is a practical guide to help others apply God's Word to a daily, life-changing reality. The worksheet is designed to involve a person in his own personal growth. This is getting specific. Many Christians agree in "principle" that God wants to change them, but they dodge the specifics.

This handbook is highly effective in addressing specific sins and practical ways to implement Biblical Truths to overcome those sins. This book offers copy-rights to many of the worksheet pages designed for charting your personal progress and a complete explanation of how to best use this tool. This resource has fantastic Scripture references that guide the entire overcoming of specific sins. This handbook breaks up sins into categories to better understand the root of the sins and provides daily foci for surrendering more fully to God your sin. I would highly recommend this resource in counseling and personal growth situations. It is highly effective in admitting, understanding and targeting specific sins in your life from immorality to lack of trust to selfishness and over 100 other sins for men, women, teens, and children. I wish I could rate this handbook higher than 5 starts because this really tops them all when it comes to clarity and not straying for Scripture's definitions and applications. This handbook was purchased as a recommendation from Seminary and used in our household to more fully repent and devote ourselves to God.

Both the format and content of this book is usable, challenging and gets to the "root" causes of our problems. Only then can we hope to change the "fruit" that gives us problems in our everyday lives. Totally needed resource for all Christians!!

God has called every Christian to grow up. Just like in physical development we expect babies to grow into adults, God expects believers to grow into holiness and Christ-likeness. It's not a biblical option to stagnate. But many Christians wonder how this growth is supposed to happen. Do I just try harder? Does God just sprinkle me with spiritual growth dust and "poof" I'm holy?

Pastor Tiffe has written an excellent and practical resource to help any Christian grow in the Christian faith. God told us very clearly how we grow. The first part of the handbook is a very helpful overview of the biblical process of change. We don't just try to stop sinning. That rarely, if ever, works. We need to recognize the reality of our union with Christ (Rom. 6). We need to lean on the power of the Spirit (Gal. 5:16). And God calls us to put off - renew - put on (Eph. 4:22-24).

This is the only resource I've seen where there is a great list of what God calls us to put off and what we should biblically put on in its place.

Not only is this a great, practical resource for personal use, but it's also invaluable in a counseling setting.
Buy it, use it, and grow!

This is a must tool for people who want to demonstrate how God changes lives in a world that tells us a pill will do it.

This is a fabulous workbook, recommended by our pastor. The author lists dozens of "heart conditions" that we are commanded to put off, from critical thinking to fearfulness. He advises us on what Scripture says we are to replace each one with. And he then provides a selection of verses supporting each point. I'm working my way through it slowly, point by point, writing down the passages on the right side of a journal, recording my meditations on each one on the left-hand side, and pausing now and then to review the ones that seem to be my biggest issues. What a great tool for impressing the will of God on a stubborn heart!

THis is a great tool if one is interested in growing in Christ as a mature christian. I am using this tool with my small group and they in turn are taking it to their families to use with teens/children. I highly recommend this book to take a look at personal sin and how to ask for forgiveness.
