A Strong Solo Effort, January 1, 2005
This review is from: Transformer (Audio CD)
Bruce Kulick has been a musician for a while now, and while is work with KISS is really good, I really like his solo work. Kulick is a very talented guitarist/singer, and even though Kulick's best solo album so far has proven to be 2001's "AudioDog", 2003's "Transformer" shines a lot also. There are twelve tracks on this whole album, and there are four instrumentals and eight songs with lyrics. One song, "It's Just My Life" features a cameo appearance by John Corabi, who was the lead singer for Union, the band Kulick formed after he left KISS, and Corabi was once even the replacement lead singer for Motley Crue. This time, Corabi is the lead vocalist on this song. I like all of the songs on here, but my personal favorites are "I Can't Breathe", "If Love's The Answer", "All That I Need", and "Don't Tell Me Something". There are a lot of ballads on this album, all of which are very pretty. While "Transformer" is a new album from an old artist, the music on here sounds similiar to some of the new music out there today(example, Dave Navarro) and you can tell just by listening to the record that Kulick put a lot of effort into this album. Can't wait for the next Bruce Kulick solo album!
