I grew up with Transformers and owned the transformer Soundwave, so the chance to own a piece of my childhood had me half sold the moment I found this product. And since I also needed a USB drive, this sale was in the bag.
Pros:
Read the product description and look at the picture. It's all there.
Also, the fact that it transforms into a a robot animal means that it's harder to lose in the home office clutter. :)
Cons:
Now that I have it in front of me, I do notice that the mouth opens too wide. At some point in the very near future, I'm going to wind up gluing something under the neck to prevent the mouth from opening all the way so that it doesn't look like his jaw is dislocated.
The mechanism to extend and retract the USB port locks itself too securely in retracted mode. You really have to push to get it to slide out. Worse yet: it DOESN'T lock itself securely enough to keep the USB port extended. You will sometimes have to manually hold the extending switch in place with your finger to get it to plug into your computer.
Because this is a Transformer, it is significantly wider than a standard USB drive. You will not be able to use this drive beside another USB device unless the ports are a greater-than-standard distance from each other.
One last complaint for everyone in the 30+ age bracket: This product is made of plastic! The transformers we grew up with were made out of metals and were much more sturdy. Am I age-ranting? yup!
Summary:
Don't buy this if you are going to use it heavily. It's too bulky, too fragile, and the USB mechanism isn't engineered well enough.
DO BUY it if you plan on using this only occasionally. Buy it even if you aren't a Transformer fan! :D
