I've got to say that I've liked Towline alot. He's a dead solid reminder of the original G1 Ironhide character. Towline's vehicle mode was a pretty solid looking van. I could easily say you could hide him amongst other car toys by his looks. Then comes the transformation. His upper half becomes Towline himself and the lower becomes a kind of base. Sure, sure, Towline's a bit chunky, but the look on his face means business. As for his Powerlinx combos, he can powerlink to two figures at once basically. Did I mention he can powerlink to himself? That's quite the cool mode by the way. Anyways, I love him. I recommend him highly.

THIS TOY IS PRETTY DARN COOL EXCEPT FOR HIS POWERLINK TO THE BOTTOM OF THE VAN LOOKS LIKE A FREAKY ROBOT THAT WAY. BUT OTHER WISE VERY COOL. EASY TO TRANSFORM AND DURABLE. WELL WORTH A PURCHASE.

A great third Autobot,

Tow-Line is a nice addition to your ENERGON collection, if you need a third "silver-cog" AUtobot. The transformation into a TV truck is novel, and the robot is nice, as is its mobile tank mode when the two separate. As the toy comes in two parts, one part can turn into a Powerlinx "dhirt" onlt, and the other can only tun into the "pants" only. As a shirt, Towline works well but its chest does protrude more than others, which is a problem when connecting it to Prowl. The "pants" mode has been compared to a centaur mode, and usually looks rather silly, but it is a fare trade-off. Of course, the toy can recombine in shirt and pants mode. The best use for Tow-Line is when you can only buy one more Autobot when you have two already; instead of buying two new robots for a new Powerlinx robot, you can just buy Towline and have him split up and powerlinx with two different robots. That's the main feature.

Tow-Line is one nice figure! As a news van, Hasbro did a good job disguising the robot, and the news satellite thing is nice, too. When you transform him, Tow-Line splits into two parts. The upper part becomes the actual robot, and although he's a bit chunky, is very poseable and fun to play with. The satellite thing becomes a rifle for him, and Tow-Line's face looks like he means business. The lower part becomes a weird tank thing, and you can attatch the rifle here too.
You can Powerlink Tow-Line with other Autobots as well. The robot becomes the top of the combo, and the tank thing forms the legs. You also can Powerlink Tow-Line with himself, which I refer to as his Supermode, and it doesn't look too bad. Tow-Line is solid. Not one part has broken off yet, and nothing seems loose. I'm sure youngsters will enjoy this Autobot, and anyone should buy him, kid or collector. I enjoy this figure immensely. |
