5.0 out of 5 stars Optimus Prime with hook
My 4yo son received this for Christmas. He absolutely loves playing with it. I do wish it was easier for him to transform, as my husband and I are the actual "tranformers". Overall, I would recommend this toy for little boys that enjoy playing with transformers.

2.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating Optimus Prime
I purchased the Optimus Prime Fast Action Battler for my son. He has several of the other Fast Action Transformers and I was impressed with them. The Optimus Prime however is a terrible design. It does a poor job of transforming. The feet spring out in robot mode, and in the truck mode the feet springs are pushing against the truck hood which REFUSES to stay down. My son...

My son continually hands it to me to fix. Skip this version and buy one of the others.

The Optimus Prime is much harder to transform from robot to truck than the other characters. We bought 4 - Bumblebee, Jazz, Ironhide,& Optimus Prime. They are all a little fragile - arms pop off easily, but go back on with no problem.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bots could be tougher, but still crazy fun!, February 14, 2008

First of all I am a fan from back in the day, love Transformers. Bought Prime and Bumble Bee for the munchkin at Christmas. I chose these because of the simpler "transform" design and while considerably less complicated that the regular bots they still require some assistance for the younger kiddos. I transform them several times a day and yes Prime has indeed lost his ability to stay transformed (very frustrating when you are acting out movie scenes)in addition to missing an arm and severly faded paint. I like the fact that certain parts will release instead of break but I believe there needs to be an even tougher version of these toys for the little guys/gals, something they can do on their own. The "Slammers" line of bots offers an extremly simple transform and more sturdy construction but they do not stay transformed and the bot form is slightly dissapointing. Will replace Prime and BB when loved to death, they are still way cool and my munchkin is definatly hooked. Come on Hasbro, get those circuts pumping give us druable Transformers so even the smallest fans can enjoy the legacy.
