5.0 out of 5 stars Not originally called all hail megatron volume 3
originally this was spotlight vol 5. I always liked the spotlight series and this is no exception. its nice to see one shots of specific characters to help define their character and every spotlight relates or leads into more of the main storyline that has been going on in the IDW transformers verse so i recommend it. just ignore that they call it All hail megaton vol 3...

2.0 out of 5 stars This should not be book 3 of Hail Megatron
This books collects 5 one-shot stories, each one picturing on character/autobot. The stories are light headed and fun to read, but they have absolutely nothing to do with the "Hail Megatron" Storyline. If you want to head only the main story buy books 1, 2 and 4.

3.0 out of 5 stars A not so tie-in tie-in, December 7, 2009
This review is from: The Transformers: All Hail Megatron, Vol. 3 (Paperback)
This is a series of one shots with some being connected to the All Hail Megatron series but not essential reading to follow the main storyline. I'm not sure why they needed to include it in collection order but they did so let's get on with the review. Drift is a good spotlight standalone as it makes the character interesting & leaves his background vague enough that you want to know more about him. This spotlight shows how he found himself in the AHM series. Also, it shows how Perceptor got the new makeover as showcased in AHM. The Jazz storyline is a morale booster told to the Autobots during a lowpoint in AHM. Jazz does come across as a tough bot but the Predacons are a lot better than what is shown here. That is the end of the AHM related spotlights. Blurr's storyline is ok but there's not a lot to say about it. Cliffjumper's tale is a simple enough story done many times. Metroplex's story has one of THE best spreads I have ever seen in a comic book. His awakening is not to be missed. Also it sets him up nicely for a future storyline. Overall it's a decent enough read with some top highlights.

This is a great book. The only issue I have is this: This is not part of the AHM story. This was going to be Spotlight Volume 5. I'm not sure why IDW did what they did but, its still a great book.

Best of the best from IDW. Thrilling stories, good presentations
of characters and gorgeus artwork. Jazz fans can't miss it!!!
