This review is from: Transformers Alternators - Ford Mustang GT (Wheeljack) (Toy)
Wheeljack is by FAR the most difficult of all Transformers I've ever tried. He is the only one besides RiD Ultra Magnus I've had to use the instructions for, but they are pitifully inadequate. His legs aren't too bad, but his upper body, holy cow! Take my advice and remove the doors (they come off and go back on extremely easily). Even then it's tough, and getting him back is even worse! I relished in the challenge, though, and have managed to become astute at getting him from one mode to the other. It feels strange to take pride in such an accomplishment, but I can't help it.
His Mustang mode looks great though it can be tough to get everything lined up exactly right, and his robot mode is nothing less than impressive! His sword seems kind of stubby, though it actually looks like a sword which is not always the case with American Transformers. His white and blue paint job looks nice, and his head looks like the classic Wheeljack head. His legs look like they ought to be stiff and cumbersome, but they are actually very easy to pose. The doors can be annoying until you learn how to transform him properly (which is why I say take them off for now), and I had trouble with the piece that connects them to the shoulder. The screw kept falling out of mine (I super glued it finally) which can add to your pains although hopefully that's not common. Someone asked me once if these were still as fun as they used to be. With Wheeljack's level of difficulty I wouldn't call him "fun," but as a display piece he is virtually unrivaled! Definitely don't buy him for a child's toy. Availability sucks. I watched for a couple of weeks before I was able to place an order. Coming back to write this review I see that he's already unavailable again. Good look. If you think it's hard to transform him into a robot..... just wait till you try to transform him back into a car. For some reason its just so hard to figure out exactly how to get the arms right. This is NOT a toy for your kids. This is for adult collectors who want model Transformers that don't look like toys.
All the Alternators in vehicle mode are perfect replicas of their real world counterparts. So even if you are just a model car collector you can add these babies into your 24:1 collection. Pesonally I think the Mustang and Rx-8 molds are the best of the line. They are the nicest looking in robot mode and have the most poseability. I'm 30 years old and haven't bought a Transformer in 15 years but I have almost every one in this line. They are truly engineering masterpieces and anyone who sees them in person will be utterly amazed.

Yes, its very hard to transform blah blah blah, that's not what pissed me off about this product. This transformer's paint is not durable at all, this can become a problem while transforming it. The parts dont stay together very well at all, the plastic is flimsy. If you want to buy an alternator, I wouldn't recommend them, I would only recommend Bintaltech transformers. Binaltech are the Japanese version of the Alternators, BUT MUCH BETTER QUALITY
