My 7 year old reluctant reader digs these Transformers Animated easy readers. The leave me underwhelmed, but for my little guy and all the other Transformers obsessed, they are just what the doctor ordered. They are perfect for the 2nd-3rd grade reading levels. We found maybe one or two words that were new and the rest was easy breazy. I am always amazed at the seemingly "big" words, like intergalactic or weapon that my son reads with ease in these books just because of how much he adores the subject.
