This is a really great drawing book. It gives step by step instructions for the major characters' robot & vehicle modes as well as some bio info.
Depending upon the artistic ability of the child you are getting this for, I do not believe this would be a good BEGINER book. I would suggest this for someone who is at least in 4th or 5th grade.

good stuff,
This review is from: Transformers Animated: How to Draw (Paperback)
I would very much agree that this isn't the kind of deal you'd want to purchase for younger kids--but it's most perfect for those who are older, and are looking to learn how to draw animation, in general.
There's detailed guides to all of the main characters--Optimus, Megatron, Prowl, Starscream, Ratchet, Bulkhead, and Bumblebee. And you not only get directions for how to draw the characters in robot mode, but vehicle mode, as well. Also, there's a finished example of each character, so that you know how to get their coloring just right. In addition to that, you get a few details here-and-there--like how to do the Autobot and Decepticon logos, how to draw various weapons, and you even get a brief introduction to each character. There's also a snazzy size chart, where you can see just how big Bulkhead is in comparison to someone like Bumblebee. And so it's very much a top-notch reference, when it comes to learning how to draw such things. |
