This is my son's favorite transformer toy. It's a little heavy for him (he's only 4) but he has a very easy time transforming back and forth from truck to gun. Highly recommended for little ones just getting into the Transformers series.

We love this toy. My son has son much fun with it, both as a car and as a gun. He's had it for three months and still hasn't gotten bored, which is unusual for him.

Let me describe this thing.

This is a meaty truck.

Large and heavy. I got this for my 3 yr old although box says 5+. Really perfect for a 3 yr old except for the hefty weight when held in the gun position.

My 3 yr old loves the sounds and sayings even though he isn't into Transformers. In gun mode, pressing the buttons yields 4 spoken sayings. Pressing the triggers generates a shooting sound.

In truck the button does motorized sounds.

It's easy to convert from truck to gun and back. It's one quick motion of holding the two handles on the truck. But again heavy to hold as a gun for a younger than 5 yr old. And not something a 3 yr old can quite transform yet.

Sounds are loud. But my 3 yr old imitates the spoken lines which is a hilarious.

Unit overall is durable, but there are 2 plastic flaps that came off quickly as others mentioned. WE just left them off. You don't really notice them off.

In truck mode it's pretty much unbreakable. In gun mode there's more of a chance of damaging 2 parts that stay "flapped out" if you were to drop the gun on pavement or step on it if it's on the ground, but overall solid and so far so good.

Son got this for Christmas a year ago and is still playing with it. The only negative that I have is that the side flaps come off a lot. They snap right back into place but with they would just stay on.

My 4 year old loves Transformers, but some are made for older children and he has a hard time. This one he is able to do on his own, which is great. A little loud, but good.

My son (age 4) LOVES this toy! It is fun (lights up and makes noise) AND super easy to transform (my son can do it by himself in one quick motion). I love that it isn't one of those toys that is made up of a hundred small parts and accessories!! My ONLY complaint is that there are 2 sort of side panel flap things on either side that do not seem to stay on very well. They break off and you can stick them back on but they will break off again. They don't really seem to serve much purpose though so you could probably just discard them or set them aside and use the toy without them. Still worth the purchase.
