Robot Mode Features Lights, Missiles, and More
In TRANSFORMERS lore, UNICRON is the universe's ultimate evil. An embodiment of pure chaos, UNICRON strikes fear into the hearts of DECEPTICONS and AUTOBOTS alike. His only drive is to consume all life, and it is rumored that he has devoured entire solar systems!
This figure does an excellent job of capturing the fearsome reputation of UNICRON. The robot features LED eyes that glow menacingly when the button on his head is pressed down. He's also equipped with two ankle-bound rocket launchers, as well as a secret cannon that's hidden in his chest compartment for sneak attacks. These launchers can fire projectiles when a MINI-CON figure is attached to one of the activation points on UNICRON. UNICRON also offers a number of secret compartments scattered across his body, which he can use to entrap his MINI-CON minions.
Collectors will also be pleased by the many points of adjustment on UNICRON, which allow him to be posed in a variety of ways. The figure features movable arms, legs, shoulders, knees, and a pivoting torso; even his decorative horns and tendrils can bend and move.
Planet Mode for Carrying Mini-Cons
UNICRON can convert into a giant, robotic planet. When he's switched into planet mode, he becomes an entirely different toy--and a great way to store your MINI-CON figures. UNICRON can store an entire arsenal of MINI-CONS thanks to his 27 different attachment points. MINI-CONS can also be used to activate various features while UNICRON is in planet mode: he can unleash a barrage of missiles, enter "defensive mode," and more.
UNICRON also comes with an exclusive MINI-CON figure named KRANIX. He is a traditional MINI-CON and can convert from a robot into a sphere.
A Fun and Challenging Way to Play
Because of his enormous size, UNICRON requires some degree of finesse and strength to assemble. The toy is labeled as a Level 4 conversion, so younger children (five and up, please) may require adult assistance when converting the figure. For older kids, however, changing UNICRON into planet mode should provide a fun and constructive challenge.

I was lucky to get this figure when Amazon first listed it in stock.
Unicron is great and seeing that Hasbro imported the retooled 2010 Takara Version(with slightly different paint) is awesome. The import version had great box art but no way to see the figure so essentialy you had to desrtoy the collectable by opening it.
-Yes if you're spending $150+ on a figure thats been released 3 times already from overseas, it's a collectable.
Anyhow, I couldn't justify adding that to my collection while already having the first 2 versions, so I passed. However at $60 in a great package THANK YOU AMAZON I'll be proud to display it in the box.
But this is my issue, this figure is supose to be a $60 AMAZON exclusive, they even offer free shipping. You can't get it for that though because the scalpers are buying the stock & reselling it at 3 times the price!?!
I could see if this was happening on Ebay(where you can get the figure for only 2 times as much) but AMAZON is being scalped, on their own exclusive in their own house.
If you can get the figure for $60, don't hesitate. Otherwise, shame on these people!

Unicron is the planet-eating menace from Transformers: The Movie. He is unstoppable. He is relentless. He's the 25th anniversary edition. This is THE transformers toy for the ultimate collector.
In his robot form, Unicron stands over a foot tall and is just massive, and so is his feature list. He has a movie accurate head, a button on his head that makes his eyes glow with an evil red glare, his right fist can be pushed in to pulsate red, and that's only the start. He has a compartment in his abdomen and in each leg that can trap "minicons", which are very small transformers. One minicon, Kranix, is included with Unicron and is kind of a "key" to activating some of his features. By attaching Kranix to special switches on either one of Unicron's legs, you can launch three missiles from the leg. This can be accomplished by just pushing the firing switch, but Kranix makes a convenient handle. Pressing Kranix onto a special peg on Unicron's back opens his chest to launch a spring-loaded mega missile. One can only imagine the devastation such a projectile would wreak upon an inhabited world, or the family pet for that matter. There's also rotating attachment points on the top of each shoulder for minicons.
Unicron in robot form is very well articulated for a toy this size, and seems fairly sturdy. The arms have ratchet joints at the shoulder allowing rotation and pivot, pivot at the elbows, and rotation of the arms as well. The hands can rotate and the fingers are individually articulated. This allows Unicron to make a fist, or open his hand and hold Kranix in his palm. You can even have Unicron express his displeasure at Galvatron's disobedience with the universal hand signal as well. Articulation in the head is simple rotation though the horns can be pivoted and do so during transformation. The waist also rotates. The legs ratchet sideways at the hips and pivot at the knee, and rotate below the knee. The planet sections on the sides of his legs rotate and his feet can be pivoted and the forward part of his feet can be rolled. His feet are absolutely huge which helps to keep the toy from tipping when standing. Some of the plastic used is soft rubbery plastic, such as on his helmet horns, the tips of the shoulder horns, and on the shoulder plates. This helps prevent breakage during transformation and general planet-crunching action.
Transformation is not too difficult. He's rated as a skill level 4 on the box, and skill level 3 on the instruction packet, but he's not nearly as complex as some of the Leader Class figures, such as Leader Class Optimus from Revenge of the Fallen. The difficulty lies in the sheer size of the toy requiring a bit of force. That brings me to the planet rings. Those take a bit of tinkering to get right the first time. If I have to take points away from this toy anywhere it's in the instructions not being clear on the initial assembly. The ring sections clip onto tabs on his back, and there are two quarter hemisphere shells that come into play in planet mode that peg onto the ring sections. If you clip the rings on the tabs the wrong way the support posts for the rings will try to fall perpendicular to his back. If put on correctly, you can accidentally dislodge them if you try to rotate them down his back if you're not careful, but they should not fall a full 90 degrees. Looking at his back, you want to attach the ring sections with the curved side of the clips pointing away from you and into Unicron's back. When you transform him into planet mode it says to remove the wings (what the instructions refer to the quarter hemispheres with the chomping bits as), transform him to planet mode, then reattach them and swing them into place. What's not clear in the instructions is that one of the two sections of the rings that snap together actually peg into two holes in the feet. You pull the feet apart slightly, slip the post in, and then the feet will connect to it. The other post formed by snapping the rings together does not have these pegs and the "wings" have a notch cut out that fits over this. I have found that once in planet mode it is not necessary to remove the wings when transforming back into robot mode. These can just be folded behind him and they will support the ring sections quite well for the classic movie look when seen from the front. This is more a matter of preference, but for those that don't want to constantly remove and reattach parts for fear of breakage it's an option.
Unicron's planet mode is not quite as perfect to the movie as his robot mode, but it's still fantastic. By squeezing the two mandable-like horns inward the jagged tooth-like mechanism chomps. You can just imagine Unicron drawing in one of Cybertron's moons and nomming away! In addition, Kranix can be attached to a dimple above the mouth to act like a gun turret. On mine he does not peg on very tightly, so you might want to test the fit before taking Unicron on any adventures in planet mode to keep Kranix from landing on a hard surface. Kranix can also attach to the leg-mounted missile launchers for planet-blasting missile action. In planet mode, Unicron has attachment points for 27 minicons - 24 on his ring section, the aforementioned one above the mouth, and one on each rocket launcher switch. Add in the three compartments for storing minicons and that's actually room for a total of 30 minicons at once, though you'll have to trap three of them before transforming into planet mode.
Now for the bad news, and it has nothing to do with the toy itself. The 25th Anniversary Unicron is an Amazon exclusive, and actually ordering one directly from Amazon is proving difficult owing to the behavior of some of the Amazon Marketplace vendors. I managed to snag one last week, but there are a lot of marketplace sellers that have been buying them up as soon as they are restocked and selling them at inflated prices. Amazon cannot keep these in stock before they are bought up again so often times you'll see prices over $100 plus shipping. The direct from Amazon.com price is $60 and qualifies for free Super Saver shipping. If the price is marked higher than this then it is a market place seller, not direct from Amazon.com, and you are NOT getting the best price. Keep checking back often with Amazon for when they get these in stock, and when you see one do not hesitate to buy. This is a once in a lifetime anniversary exclusive, so don't miss your chance to add the Harbinger of Chaos to your collection!

I don't own any other versions of Unicron, so I can't compare him to the other editions. However, the Unicron I hold in my hand I can say is awesome. He comes in this fantastic clear packaging with a ton of detail and color all around the package. I really love the packaging because I collect Transformers and this packaging allows me to put Unicron on my shelf to display without having to remove him from the box. The packaging says "Transformers The Movie 25th Anniversary Special Edition Unicron.
He's large, (give or take) about 15 inches from foot to top of horns, highly detailed and quite heavy. I can't recall how accurate he is to the movie version, but he looks pretty darn close to me in color and look wise (minus all the toy upgrades).
Unicron can "trap" Mini-Cons inside his legs, fire 6 missiles, has a super cannon on his chest and can hold 27 Mini-Cons. He also has glowing eyes, and a light up fist. Very menacing indeed.
He IS NOT the biggest Transformer ever made, as that title goes to Fortress Maximus, as many others have commented. However, Unicron is a pretty big figure.
I uploaded a shot of Unicron next to Fort Max for size comparison, and also uploaded a picture of DOTM Ultimate OP to show you how big this figure is standing next to a current toy on the shelf.
I highly recommend Unicron and I KNOW every Transformers fan, kid or kid at heart will love this figure.
