Epic Duels in the Transformers world,

This game is by the same designers who made the excellent Star Wars Epic Duels game, and uses the same game mechanics. It's a very straight-forward combat game, pitting autobots versus decepticons. Imagine a cross between Magic: The Gathering and a miniatures battle game, and you have the general feel for the gameplay. Each of the eight transformers that are playable in the game has its own deck of cards that contain all of that units unique moves. As a result, each of them plays with a different style, making each match up a unique battle. Figuring out how to exploit the strengths of your robots against your opponents' weaknesses is the key to winning.The cards are a little cheap in quality, but there are eight complete decks, one for each robot, that are printed in full color, so that compensates somewhat. The boards and robot pieces are top notch. This is a very fun game that appeals to the younger crowd, but is also an entertaining diversion for the more grown up gamer. Definitely a fun one to play with your kids. |
