Product Description

Editorial Review

All the Transformers must think it's pretty cool that they can transform themselves from a robot into, say, an airplane or a tank or a bus or whatever. We're sure they feel pretty powerful and intimidating when they pull off that neat trick. But compared to what Unicron can do, well, we're afraid that's small potatoes. Because Unicron can turn into a planet. That's right, a planet. You heard me: a planet. In the lore of Transformers, Unicron is long thought to be merely a legend until he shows up bent on taking over and the heroic Autobots must team up with the evil Decepticons to defeat him. Though it's difficult to rival the feat of turning into a planet, Unicron is pretty impressive as a robot as well, with glowing eyes and fist and three spring-loaded missiles. He even has a sidekick, Dead-End, who fits neatly inside Unicron's leg. --Charlie Williams

Product Description

The Transformers learn that Unicron, a planet-sized robot thought to be only a legend, is making his way toward Cybertron, bent on its destruction. To defend their homeworld, the Autobot and Decepticon armies form an unlikely battle alliance, with Optimus Prime and Megatron as their leaders. True to his nature, the power-hungry Megatron secretly plans to claim Unicron's sinister power for himself. Can Optimus Prime stop this terrifying menace, or will the evil Megatron get his way?

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Coolest Toys Ever!, October 25, 2003
A Kid's Review
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Transformers Armada UNICRON 15" Action Figure with DEAD END Mini-Con (2003 Hasbro) (Toy)
This was my first Transformers toy. But from what I've seen, it's pretty cool! Unicron looks great in robot mode, but a little unusual in planet mode. It's not a big deal, unless you go nuts at the sight of an object that isin't round, but is supposed to look like a planet! I'm not a Transformers collecter, but I have to say this is pretty cool! If you buy this for a little kid though, Make sure they don't make any "rude gestures" with the hands. One of the best things about it is that it does NOT have many small pieces to lose. Although it costs alot,(and takes FOREVER to unpack), it's worth the money! Plus All the kids on my block love it! So, to rap it up Unicron is a great toy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unicron is Awsome!, October 30, 2003

Unicron is one of the biggest, baddest, and coolest transformers out there. He makes a great addition to any collection or is a great transformer to start your collection with. Both of his modes are awsome and both have their own special features. If you like transformers or want to get involved with transformers than this is the toy for you.

I just got started building my Transformers collection (something I've been threatening to do since my Freshman year of high school,) so Unicron was one of the first figures I got.

I wasn't disappointed. Unicron is super posable and has more gimmicks than you can shake a fusion cannon at--or a stick, anyway.

My only gripe is that he's very difficult to transform--Hasbro wasn't lying when they gave him an "expert level" rating of 4 on their Transformation difficulty scale. Children are going to have a hard time with Unicron, both because he's so difficult to change into a planet and because he's just too big for smaller hands. Collectors, however, will be thrilled.

It boils down to this: if you're a collector, then you need one. If you're buying this for a child under 8 or so, you might want to give this one a second thought.
