Great Art, Great Action, Great Fun., September 6, 2006
This review is from: Transformers Armada Volume 2 (Transformers Vol 2) (Paperback)
This is probably my favorite Transformers comic, and the first work of Simon Furman that I read.
This volume covers two complete story arcs. The first is a simple story of Megatron attempting to wield the Star Saber to destroy Optimus Prime. The second is a clever tale that visits the moon, and introduces a lot more mini-cons, some of whose alliegance is a mystery.
The action is large, explosive and just feels great. The individual characters are unchanged, but they are displayed in their best light. If you know them from other Transformers media, you will see them as deeper and more interesting after reading this.
The art is gritty, and bright, and just plain fun. This isn't a comic to buy just for the art; but you'll enjoy the art while you read it.
