This book does for Beast Wars what the More Then Meets the Eye book did for the first generation of Transformers. It's filled to the brim with amazing drawings of characters spanning all of Beast Wars mythology. (Sorry, no mention of Beast Machines here.) Every character to have graced the show gets a bio here. As an added bonus, every character to not have graced the show gets a bio here as well!

The characters and bios span the American CG Beast Wars, and the Japanese Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo. The bios are written as well as the characters are drawn. This is a great way for beginners to delve into the mythology of Beast Wars as well as a great collection for veteran fans.

I've been meaning to check out IDW's recent attempts at the vastness of the Transformers franchise. I picked this book up to see what they did to the Beast Wars part of the mythos.

I was blown away by how inclusive this is. In addition to the characters we know and love from the CGI cartoon, we get bios on characters who never went beyond toy form and characters from the Japanese cartoons. Its interesting to see how IDW is melding all these various characters together into one giant shared universe.

The book still has it's flaws, like misspellings, spacing, and some discolorations from the individual books. However, the book has great detail and information and has some improvements. I am a fan of the Transformers franchise and can recommend this to a fan or newcomer of the franchise.
