Whole series in one shot... and for a decent price.,

The whole series in a package deal... as opposed to selling you the seasons individually. So what if it's not on Blu-Ray? One, Just how would that improve the visual quality of an OLD cartoon? Two, is there a Blu-Ray player that doesn't play DVDs?
The stupid added Rhino sound effects are gone. That alone sells me on the set.

Sure this collection doesn't include the original movie, but I think that is ok for getting 2220 minutes plus bonus features of one of the most amazing animated series of all time, all for under $55 (15 dvds, that means each one is only $3.33, its GREAT). I may of been born after the 80s, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying it in every way possible. The box is superb, and the cover art for each DVD is amazing. The quality of the DVDs is amazing as well, that is what really stood out to me. Color looked fresh and the sound was amazing. Sure this is only DVD, and someone is going to complain about not having a blue ray of it yet, but DVD is just fine. Heck I still watch VHS videos from time to time, so I can live without blue ray for a while. Main point is this, if you have any love for the Transformers, and you want to have something to keep you entertained when you're pushing 70 or 80 and don't want to watch soap operas or cop dramas, then get this amazing DVD collection and enjoy it to the fullest. There is more than meets the eye in this box set!

Throwback gift,
By
This review is from: Transformers: The Complete Series (DVD)
Even though I haven't officially bought this awesome DVD set,I know three people who will be receiving this as a xmas gift this yr. I grew up on this cartoon and was absolutely thrilled when it put back on the air recently. I get up in the 6:30 in the morning just to watch this series and I'm almost 30. lol. The point is, if you know someone who was into the movies as well as the cartoon, this could be a most excellent nostalgic gift for someone (who you will witness) revert back to the awe-struck child they were. Get it! Ive already added this to my xmas list and sent it out in emails.

"Very pleasing to my optic sensors",
This review is from: Transformers: The Complete Series (DVD)
Transformers (G1) was one of my favorite toys and cartoons growing up so being able to have it all on DVD today is great.
The box set is good, it is not big and bulky like some box sets and that is nice. Also the silvery front image of the box set is a visage of none other then Optimus Prime himself! When one stops to think that Prime basically is an embodiment of the Autobot ideals of goodness then it is quite fitting.

Not a bad collection of all 98 Transformers episodes, but I feel it should have more. The episodes themselves are worth the effort to get this set, but extras are a little short in my view. After season two, the animated film came out, and afterwards the whole Transformers series changed drastically, so much so that it doesn't even feel like the same series. Some characters died in the film, and never returned, and I feel the movie should have been part of this collection. That would make sense for those who have not seen it, and it doesn't help that its out of print on DVD and hard to find at a reasonable price(in most cases it cost more than this set does). The old TV commercials is a nice addition but parts of the frame are blurred out.

Can't beat it for the price.,

For the money you can't beat it but if you're a die hard fan you might be let down by the lack of extras. Only two of the many PSAs are included and it is the same way with the original toy commercials. The remastering makes it look better than it did when I watched it during the original broadcasts. I believe there were also some cast interviews included in another set that aren't in this one which is a disappointment. Still it's the best deal so far for the entire G1 US line. I hope they release more Japanese series from this company in the future.
